Until the left and feminism and the media started changing the language, Americans and Britain, etc, believed in masculine men, and the word “macho” described the weird, insecure male cultures of Latins and Latinos.
Our masculine men were the strong silent types who walked softly and protected women and children and the weak, against the blustery macho types.
Think Jimmy Stewart, versus the loud macho bad guy.

You gotta be kidding me. The primary characteristic we (gals) like in a man is that of being macho. We do not want a man whose hands are softer than ours, who cannot cook over an open fire, who has no idea how to use a hammer or a gun. I could go on and on.
Sure, I can take care of myself, but I shouldn’t have to. That’s the whole point. Macho is EXACTLY what I want. Nothing less will do. I am not alone in said opinion.
