For Mitt Romney, it appears that the third time is not the charm.

On a conference call with supporters today, Romney is expected to take a pass on another White House bid, according to an advance text of his remarks.

“After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee,” Romney plans to say.

I have a suggestion, and I made it in 2012, and I still think it’s a good one, but who am I, a nobody.

But here goes:

All conservatives everywhere should agree well in advance of the primary season to fully back the winner of the South Carolina primary.

Ignore Iowa. Ignore NH.

Make SC the litmus test and the winner of that gets our full support.

I know SC is not perfect, but it’s a billion light years better than f’d up Iowa and mega-f’d up NH.

But I’m a nobody and my suggestion is going nowhere. I know that.

Which is why I personally believe that Jeb has it already all locked up.

I don’t see Palin running. If she does she won’t last very long. She has incredibly loyal and dedicated supporters, but she won’t have the money or the organization to be a serious contender.

Perry has too much baggage from 2012. Basically he’s the Fred Thompson of that cycle: great percieved potential, folded like a cheap lawn chair.

Top three are going to be Bush, Cruz and Walker. Conservatives need to ignore everyone else. Get through IA and NH (test of the candidates organizational skills) and coalesce behind either Cruz or Walker (whichever is stronger at that point) going into SC (thats still 3rd, right)?

I don’t think the shots are called by either Romney or Jeb. There’s a cabal of RINO bosses who tell all the underlings what to do.

Boy Jeb is an underling. So is Boy Mitt.

We said pretty much the same thing, about a minute and a half apart.

My point about coalescing before SC (yours is to coalesce after it) is that in a multicandidate race Bush will probably win it with a plurality. That means SC needs to be a 2-candidate race.

He would make a capable Cabinet member in a Republican administration.

Based on his four years as governor of Massachusetts and his political philosophy and history, I wouldn't want Romney anywhere near a Republican administration.

Governor Crisco just called himself `the pushy loudmouthed urban New Jerseyite’.

His signal that he already knows he doesn’t stand a chance in 2016.

Field’s starting to narrow. And credit to Romney for doing the right thing.

Could someone please name names? That is, the GOPe fat cats supposedly calling the shots and financing their preferred candidates? The term “GOPe” is used on this and every other like-minded website frequently without ever naming names.
Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks to anyone who responds.

I thought last year Romney said he wasn’t running in 2016.

The problem is that he is at the top of all the GOP candidate polls that I have seen shown on cable news stations.

Name and face recognition for Republicans?

This is why I keep saying that we need a REAL candidate to run in the GOP primary, because the default will always be these guys.

Real meaning NOT a Newt, not a Cain, not a Bachman and not a Santurum.

Nor that chubby Mike Huckleberry, he belongs in the 1970s on Hee-Haw or a 1960s cartoon.

and as long as you are looking for someone who doesn’t have something, somewhere, blameworthy, you will come up with an empty set. you are not addressing your core fallacy which is looking for salvation from men, rather than God.

Show me ONE piece in the bible where God says we should destroy ourselves for the poor. I DO remember something about the poor will always be with us. He never said anything about national suicide.

Here's the sad thing:

Many FREEPERs who applaud this are the very ones who went "temp-RINO" on us, wasting their vote by voting for loser Romney!

I am a huge Ted Cruz fan and believe he has what it takes. Having said that and that my bumper sticker says Ted Cruz in 2016, I BELIEVE that knowing the GOPe run everything and HAS THE MONEY to run everything, we need someone that they will atleast acknowledge is acceptable to them. Who could fill that bill you ask? Well, after beating (SOUNDLY) the union thugs up in Wisconsin not 1, not 2, but 3 times in elections out of the last 4 years, Scott Walker has the MOST OPPORTUNITY to gain us the Presidency...

I honestly think the AMERICAN PEOPLE are SICK OF THE CLINTONs AND the BUSHES, so GOP had BETTER LISTEN TO THE REALITY and pick SCOTT WALKER to get us into the WHITE HOUSE.

Now, I am all for a WALKER/CRUZ ticket to help TED prepare down the road, but also think we might go a little further out of the box and pick Susanna Martinez (GOV of NM) on a VEEP ticket with Walker....

Just my thoughts!

RE:”And thank you for keeping that blizzard from destroying NY, I’m sure that was your doing as well!”

I would vote for someone who control the weather like Don Trumpster.

That is really important as its real cold here now.

Think of the energy we could save,

Is it true that it was really Don that ordered Bin Laden killed too?

RE:”Ordered!?!?! He pulled the trigger and dissolved the corpse in acid!”

Don seems like the kind of guy who hires someone to do everything for him, except talk on TV.
He does that himself.

He wouldn't want to mess up those $1000 suits

How about a Trump-Palin ticket.

They could win without even filing for candidacy.

Don still has those documents on Obama showing that he was born on another planet, just waiting for the right time...

2008 MITT seemed to suck up the conservatives opposing McCain and we don’t want him being a conservative alternative to Bush. Maybe the Walker boomlet is getting attention from insiders who want to defeat Bush.

South Carolina? You mean Lindsey Graham's home state?
