American Sniper

God bless Chris Kyle for everything he did for us, and God dam you, Michael Moore, for all you stand for

Maybe you are one of the lucky ones who has already seen the blockbuster and one of the all-time box-office record holders, American Sniper – Clint Eastwoods’ film adaptation of the life of Christopher Scott “Chris” Kyle, released on December 2014. Kyle, is considered to be the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history, while accumulating 160 confirmed kills, out of 255 probably kills.

As a matter of record, I would also like to commend Eastwoods’ proactive choice of bringing Kyle’s story to the big screen as otherwise his legacy could have been lost in an unending compilation of unsung heroes who passed us by if yet seldom noticed or acknowledged by the rest of us; by all of us who should live forever indebted to these champions of liberty to whom we owe nothing short than our freedom – no ‘ifs’ or ‘buts’ about it.

Little brother: "I said f__k this place!"

That's pretty tame

Many R movies these days would be "f_k I f_ing said f_k this f_ing place ... b_t_h"

Didn’t see the flick.
“Never heard an F bomb” refers to never, ever, like grammar school, high school, business board rooms, at the store, walking down the street, in the park & every where and yes anywhere. These days if your going to stay away from where you might hear some air head throw the word word F#*K around then you won’t be getting out much and certainly will miss what is reported as an excellent flick.

PS It aint coming to local TV

We saw it with my parents yesterday. Showed up 35 minutes early for the first showing, which was sold out, so we had to change our dinner reservations and catch the second showing. There were maybe 5 open seats.

As for the F-bombs... They don't bother me, but my mom really notices that when we go to movies and she didn't even mention it last night. I think it bothers her more when it's used as an embellishment bordering on the ridiculous (think any Tarantino movie). But when there is enemy fire zinging over a guy's head and there is an honest reason for the swearing... You don't notice it so much.

The bombs were pretty excessive. Unfortunately, that’s how some military folks talk.

Chris Kyle acknowledges the greatness of Hathcock and that he, himself, only shot more of the enemy. This is an interview from Conan O'Brien's show.

There used to be a service that simply edited out the boobs and F-Bombs of many otherwise great movies.

It was shut down even though they offered to pay a royality becuase it “violated the artistic expression” or some tripe.

I can see a movie in 3D, regular, Imax, RealD, Imax Digital 3D but not “family friendly”?
Seems like they should try it as an option, especially with a moive like this.

If you do not see this movie, the terrorists have already won.

Good point. I don’t care for foul language either but it mostly in the context of combat.

Often we have a full menu of movies that are sinful and foul without a breast exposed or an f-bomb dropped. They more surely eat the soul than an accurate depiction of a combat setting and young soldiers.

That’s a good one. You’re kidding, right? If you don’t see American Sniper the terrorists have won!? That’s either pretty funny or pretty wacko.

Sounds like a good movie but my wife and I decided we didn’t want to experience the “F”-bombs exploding all around this guy and the audience.

Very few "F" bombs in this movie and mainly in the context of combat which is quite normal.

I'm not sure. Which one creeps you out the most?

Because, I am the man in this video. And when I say, "Little Baby's Ice Cream", I mean ice cream made out of little babies.

A family friendly movie about a sniper?

No offense, but oxy-moron seems patently inadequate to bridge that cognitive dissonance.

In the movie “The Last Picture Show” Ben Johnson initially refused the part of “Sam The Lion” because of the language.

They agreed to take out the foul language and he took the part. I don’t guess it hurt too much as he won an Oscar for the part.

Some great men used foul language. For instance, General Patton. Other great men such as Sgt. York and William Fairbairn never would.

Some consider Fairbairn the toughest man ever. I have never liked it, that is the way I was raised but you cannot escape it.

There are a lot of things in life that aren’t easily described as being family-friendly.

Sometimes families have to face up to certain hard truths-—violence, war, death-—that aren’t necessarily a customary part of daily life.

A film like this gives an idea of the sacrifice, heroism and love of country necessary for so many of us to live our pleasant little family-friendly lives.

Go buy a ticket anyway. The language is rough, but that is the way it is in the SEALS. Every ticket you buy is a slap to Hollywierd.

Pray America is waking
