Arizona State University is now offering a class that details the problems that "whiteness" has caused in the United States.

The course's entire title reads "ENG 401 - Studies in Amer Lit/Culture: U.S. Race Theory & the Problem of Whiteness," and is being offered for the Spring semester of 2015.

"US Race Theory & the Problem of Whiteness" is described as covering "major critical schools of recent decades--postcolonialist, psychoanalytic, deconstructionist, feminist, new historicist."

Other classes over the 200-level at Arizona cover mostly normal subjects, other than this course. Among the other classes are "ENG 241 - Literatures of the US to 1860," "ENG 440 - Studies in Amer Lit/Culture," and "ENG 471 - Literature for Young Adults."

"US Race Theory & the Problem of Whiteness" is a lecture course that offers three credits upon completion.

“Employers, make sure you look carefully at the transcripts of those college graduates before you hire them.”

Transcripts! Transcripts be damned - test those applicants to weed out the Affirmative Action Pass-Throughs, then test for ability to perorm the job description tasks while on trial employment.

It’s not “whiteness” that they really object to, it’s Westernness, or more accurately, “Judeo-Christianness” that they object to, because, for some unknown reason,

people of this persuasion inexplicably tend to prosper,
and people who reject this culture tend to fail,

and that’s not fair.

To make assumptions about somebody simply because they’re white, black, brown, whatever...is simply racist. This is just institutional racism by blacks against whites. The only test would be if the colors could be reversed, of course it wouldn’t be tolerated.

Can you imagine the howling if they offered a class “The Problem of Blackness”? Talk about bias and hypocrisy!

No, and look what his “diverse thought” got him.

As an aside, before that book, “the bell curve” was always about grading.

From his pic, I look tanner than he is. If “whiteness” is a problem, why is his “whiteness” teaching?

Geez this racism makes me sick.

I live in Phoenix. I should take that class as an audit and make sure that I argue with the prof every class. I already have a masters and doubt I will ever have to show my transcripts again.

Aztlan. What a joke. All the tribes in the US southwest hated the Mexicans with a black passion. If the Aztecs ever did live in the US southwest is am sure the other locals kicked those sadistic, bloody, and depraved people out to inflict their evil someplace else.

When I click on the link to the course description it says that it’s been removed.

Did they get some heat from this and pulled the course??

that second link in the article is bad, this course is still there. 20 seats are open.

These two links take you to the ASU page (from course catalog and ASU site) click on his “courses” and you get up-to-the-minute info on how many seats are left and the course description.

Is it a joke. As if the AZTECS had Phoenix as the center of ATZLAN. To dang hot. The AZTECS never left southern mexico (as a mecca). Rain, nice temps, abundant food. Raul Grijalva and the head of Tonatierra are racists and bigots.

http://tonatierra.org/ (Legitimized racism)

The Mexican Govt. was glad that they had the US Govt. to complain to about the Apache (after the Gadsden purchase)raids that went on into Mexico.
