Wrong, Mr. Berman, church is life, not politics...
The GOP was invaded/taken over by the libertarians. The libertarians (the Ayn Rand fan boy types, not your average liberty loving person) are a small portion of the electorate, the Christians are a huge portion of the electorate. They want your votes, not your input.
Huckabee is likely only in it to siphon off votes so that Jeb Bush can get the nomination.
“Do I think Huckabee could win? Frankly, no.”
Then you’re an idiot for thinking that him running is a good idea. The only thing it will accomplish is to draw primary votes away from a conservative that could win, and help ensure that we get another RINO loser, and therefore, another Democrat president.
I'm offended that someone thinks pardoning Maurice Clemmons and advocating budget-busting spending increases and entitlement expansions is what a true Christian would do.
First, Huck is a progressive, not a conservative.
Second, Huck is a statist, not a constitutionalist.
Third, Huck is not a populist. He disdains the TP.
There is no reason for conservatives to support his candidacy.
Huckaphony is a worthless liberal DemocRat.
It does seem though, that qualified well regarded Christian candidates get treated like piniatas by their own “side” with disturbing regularity (read every single time), why would that be, d’yousuppose?!
You are right on. He jacked up the sales tax in Arkansas and has repeatedly run on big government intrusion. Sorry, no Huck.
When you bump politics against Christianity, you do not get a one-for-one translation/interpretation.
Yet another RINO jumping in to help get a democRat elected in 2016. Same old game.
I don’t think it’s the Ayn Randian libertarians that are the problem,
but the actual Big Government Republicans.
Neither care for Christian input.
where is good ol Jim Jones when we need him?
(Candidates like Mike Huckabee keep the RINOs honest)
On the fiscal side Huckabee IS a RINO. We need fewer people like him running to siphon off votes from the real fiscal conservatives, and more like Jeb Bush and Romney running to siphon votes off each other.
If you’re looking for a SMART Christian to be President, my choice would be Ted Cruz.
He has made no apologies for his faith; he’s well educated; and informed about world/foreign affairs.
I liked Huckabee on his show .. but I don’t think he has the analytical smarts or fortitude to be President .. not with today’s pressures.
The big government Republicans benefit, but they aren’t the snitty little atheist drama queens doing all the Junior High backstabbing tactics, they are just the ones who look good by comparison.
The Huckster still is?........
Maybe we just don’t want all his Mehhiccccans.
