Last weekend, Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee forced every senator to vote, on the public record, regarding the constitutionality of President Obama’s unilateral decree of effective amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. The resulting Republican establishment hissy fit further confirmed something I’ve been arguing here for some time: Republican leaders in Washington endorse President Obama’s amnesty policy.
Their stated opposition to the imperial manner of the policy’s imposition is poseur stuff. When push comes to shove, when the time comes to do something about presidential lawlessness, what do we get? Childish tantrums over being forced to work on a mid-December weekend — the poor dears having spent a whopping 135 days in session this year . . . and, by last Saturday, facing the crushing burden of another two or three days’ waltzing between the Hill and the nearest studio before their next three-week vacation.
We get party leaders who, despite having decried Obama’s lawlessness during the recent midterm-election campaign, actually whipped against a legislative rebuke of executive lawlessness. We get 20 mindboggling Republican votes in favor of the president’s usurpation of Congress’s legislative authority . . . even as GOP leaders look voters in the eye and promise to persuade the courts that the president has overstepped his constitutional bounds.

More proof and evidence the Republic is over, having been fundamentally transformed into a post-Constitutional Imperial Fascist Oligarchy by way of a Roman Senate empowering a Caesar out of fear of his Praetorian Media and Alphabets.

What we are really seeing are the two parties merging into one “government” party with an imperial president ruling by decree.
It’s the natural end point for the total corruption in DC that we are witnessing.

I'm thinking that if folks really gave a rats-patoot that the GOPe are helping Obama's agenda succeed, then we wouldn't have McConnell and Boehner reelected and in full, micro-managing control of both houses of the new congress.
I think we've still got a long, hard row to hoe.

I’ll let you know in 2016. Cruz plans to run outside of those masters and win by popular support, as Reagan did. If he does, then the Republic is far from over.
Putting our faith in electing one man to high office is yet another indicator our Republic is over.
Amazing so many have accepted a monarchy and dictatorship as the ‘solution’ for what ails us.
Cruz is no more a messiah and savior than Obama was. How sad so many are looking to him or anyone to become one.

Funny, but I seem to recall very similar admonitions for electing McCain and Romney as being our only hope as well.
It would help explain how it is we so easily lost our Republic to a defacto dictatorship.

What would a Cruz presidency do? EO’s out the wazzoo to restore the Republic? ‘Proprietorial discretion’ enforcing all the unconstitutional laws already on the books?
We just came out, not that many years ago, of a (R) controlled D.C.. They gave us the TSA, DHS, NCLB, etc. etc. etc.
