Why Did The Treasury Department Just Purchase Thousands of Survival Kits For Bank Examiners?
SHTF Plan ^ | 12/10/14 | Mac Slavo

The latest eye-opener comes from the U.S. Treasury, a department tasked with managing the country’s debt as well as the banking system as a whole. According to a new report the Treasury Department has ordered over $200,000 Survival Kits for as many as 3,814 employees who oversee the federal banking system.

It’s not clear why the federal government has ordered the kits, but perhaps they are expecting some sort of disturbance to take place and they want their employees to be prepared for it. According to Zero Hedge, the kits will be delivered to every major bank in the United States and include Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and Capital One.

Preppers PING!!

Another story about this. Not the first time the Government has made purchases like this. Or course the FR’s resident crony capitalist shills and the goverment cover enablers will be along shortly with Baghdad Bob style explainations.

Conveniently, the kits do not include firearms.

Notice the 33 item first aid kit, with very specific details about what the 33 items are.

I see this in my industry quite often. Government is required to solicit multiple bids, but if they word the requirements just right such that only one vendor has a product that matches their specific requirements...

I just reviewed a contract that listed requirements for a piece of equipment that had one company’s proprietary naming for the modes of operation. The reason for the review was that the initial purchase was such a dismal failure. None of the equipment worked as advertised and the contract is being rebid.

Useless kits!

You can buy one of these at almost any sporting goods stores for less than $10.

The non-aspirin and ibuprofen pills are proven to be harmful.

“I hope there is a good rope in each kit.”

Good line!

It’s not the first time, as well they only give them enough food for 1 meal, so they will starve. If it gets that bad, as well since this has been published, the people know the banks have money and food.

The mob is fickle my friend.

The bankers may look for their own rope if enough people are breaking their doors down. Sadly the guilty bankers will be at home in Manhattan with full security!

There are a whole bunch of odd things going on in this country at this time. So many odd things, that discussing them at length leaves you open to looking paranoid and delusional. I don’t talk to my family about them, about all the massive government sponsored purchases of weaponry (in the billions), to the point that certain types of bullets have become almost unavailable to the public.

This reminds me of the stupid toxic-air mask that the Pentagon issued to me in 2010 as I arrived at my new job there. It was a $300-odd dollar contraption that had a shelf life of roughly eight years and we were nearing the end of that. I looked at it...cheap filter...maybe two hours max of use. I asked the gal handing it to me what the purpose was, and the general answer was IF some event occurred and you needed to leave DC in a hurry. I looked at the logical scenarios and questioned how any idiot could leave DC in a hurry...just look at recent snowstorms.....it could take you three hours to get just down to Alexandria.

Someone wrote up a requirement to spend money, and some idiot GS15 signed the purchase. Might as well write up a simple requirement for a one-bullet Derringer pistol for self-defense while conducting a bank audit.
