Has anyone done a study on “Cultural” self-segregation?

I, like just about everyone else, tend to associate with people who have similar likes/dislikes, values, and personalities

I am of hispanic background, but have more white and asian friends, followed by latino friends and then black friends. Color does not enter into it. Its about who I enjoy being with. Who is “Culturally” more like me.

So if the issue is that I'm a racist if I don't hang out with people that have nothing in common with me, then I'm a racist.

A lot of black America seethes with hatred of anyone who does not look like them--not just whites, but Asians and Latinos as well.

Beyond that, many of them ONLY want to do business with other blacks. There is a movement to patronize stores and brands ONLY because the ownership is black, "to keep the money in the community."

The name for all of this is RACISM.

Sometimes this racism is carried to the point of insanity, such as the Nation of Islam characterization of white people as devils. Such demonization allows thinking of the other races as sub-human or non-human...easier to kill...easier to exterminate, as demonstrated in the last century.

No ethnic group in America has ever advanced itself by withdrawing into their own enclaves and dealing only with each other.

Not all of black America is un-sane. I fear for those who are good people of righteous character; they are not in a good place. But there are enough lunatics who see me as non-human that I am now afraid.

OK. So?

Blacks compose 13% of the population, so at the least, white social circles would be 87% white, a 4 point difference.

But most whites live in places where they do not have many black neighbors, or black co-workers. If you separate out the enclaves of black underclass, it accounts for the 4% difference.
