Thanks, I hadn’t heard that version of the reason for their divorce.
Go HAWKS!

Exactly, in college, a QB faces at most, maybe 2 NFL-quality players on the defensive side of the ball, that makes for a much, much larger margin of error, than in the NFL.
I was a wee lad back then and a Vikings fan.
Oh but the Super Bowl losses were awful. Cured me of fandom forever, it seems.
There was way too much hype of RGIII in his first season with the Redskins. I thought at the time that he might be a one-season wonder.
Big star in college. This happens now and then and it merely highlights the differences in the game at the pro level. He’s got great physical skills and may still have an NFL career.
A lot of great QBs never got the chance to lose a Super Bowl.
The story circulated locally here in Seattle, and both Wilson and the club have been ‘no comment’ on the issue. All of it has been acknowledged, and it was a big reason why Tate was traded. Tate was an issue prior to the affair. Amazing talent, but not much of it migrated past his upper lip.
You must not have seen much of Lynn Swann at the height of his game...
“Attitude is everything, positive attitude, positive results.”

The above is a link to a Hal Moore interview on the Battle of Ia Drang Valley. It is very good, and has many life lessons in it.
In the second part of the interview he talks about how he never once thought that they were going to lose the battle. Something to the effect of “If that type of thought enters your mind, you might as well just lay down and die - no matter what you are doing. Battle, work, relationships - don’t ever think that you won’t be successful.”
Sure did... long time season ticket owner... Ward could get clobbered by 2 or 3 guys and hold onto the ball. Swann was great too but totally different style.
