I wish that patriots would wise up to the idea that the Constitution was arguably derailed as far back as the ratifications of the 16th & 17th Amendments, particularly the 17th Amendment when state lawmakers foolishly gave up their voices in Congress.

Exactly! We don't have the original anymore. It's been amended 17 times since the Bill of Rights. Many of them have been disasters. They have been used in ways far beyond their original intentions or claims. That is why new amendments are necessary, to undue the damage the extra ones have caused. I have no doubt future tyrants will find ways around any solutions we come up with today but the original has lasted 2 centuries. After using Article V it's going to take them centuries to undo it again.
