“Capitalism” is the cataclysmically inappropriate word we use to describe the most successful economic system in the history of the world.
We must cease its use at once and forevermore. “Capitalism,” the word, maligns capitalism, the economic system. We must understand and accept this. No longer can we conservatives, we capitalists, remain purists about this term. The Left has won, and handily. They have contorted the word capitalism into a grotesque mockery of its true nature. Worse, having sullied the term, they have also sullied the concept.
If the economic system of capitalism were termed something different than capitalism, millions of conservatives would be spared the necessity of incessantly arguing, “No, that’s not what capitalism means at all. Capitalism is about freedom, creation, prosperity. No, it’s not about selfishness, mean-spiritedness, or base motives. No, the profit motive is not about everyone only caring about themselves. No, no, no, no, no!”

I’m not sure we need to capitulate to the liberal Goebbels of the language.
It is they who change their own monikers every few years to hide who they are - from liberal to socialists to progressives to communists to fabians...
They tried to do the same to the term conservative, but notice how republicans stumble over each other during an election trying to out-conservative each other.
That’s because most people are conservative AND capitalists and they understand the meaning of those words, and we should not let the other side define them for us. Unlike them we do not need to hide who we are.
Keep “crony” though.
We should call capitalism free enterprise, but equally important, must start calling crony capitalism “crony socialism.” Capitalism or free enterprise has no cronies. In a system without subsidies, government contracts, protected markets, or any other forms of preferential treatment, there can be no cronies. Crony capitalism is a contradiction in terms.
“Capitalism” actually describes Communism as well as free markets. Capitalism is the use of excess capital, the surplus of a man’s production that is saved in order to improve production. Communism and Free markets and various systems on that spectrum including Mercantilism all fit under this rubric. Free markets is the version that is far the most efficient and the one that can render prosperous an entire society.

Good luck getting Americans to stand behind a French slogan.
Sometimes pejorative terms have been taken up and successfully reimplemented as a banner.
But you have just permitted the Marxist to frame the discussion. I'm watching Faux News, Some Republican congressman calling Perhaps a less effective Democrat Party Yes
this Constitutional Republic, a democracy. Therby conceding
that the Republican Party stands for absolutely nothing.
