CNN's Washington bureau is suffering from low morale and high anxiety in the wake of weeks of layoffs and buyouts — with one employee likening the place to the Redskins’ locker room.
In conversations with POLITICO, sources at the bureau spoke of tension in the office as several longtime staffers have been let go while others are being promoted and given raises. On Friday, during the most recent departures, "people were crying all over the bureau," one D.C. employee said.

One of my hopes was that the jackasses who voted for OBAMACARE would get pushed out of office. So far, 28 Senators who voted for OBAMACARE are OUT OF OFFICE. Better than I HOPED for!

At some point five years ago....some producers and management folks should have sat there and said...we are losing viewers....why? The minute your market share went to a certain point...you should have hired someone to tell you the public perception of your network.
In this case? Nothing. They did nothing....they didn’t care...they had no understanding of this being a business. They just assumed that seventy percent of the nation was liberal or willing to listen to a liberal ‘talker’. So, here they stand....minimal staff and no enthusiasm.
The guys who got cut? Look around. Who is hiring? A few folks might get picked up via Fox, but no one else is hiring these days except local stations (the Channel Nine news team out of DC). It’s a lousy market place for your skills and background.
I don’t feel sorry for them....but I question their leadership. If you were broke, wouldn’t you want to fix your situation? My prediction is that they continue to slide and somewhere around 2017 (three years away)....the Chinese come and buy CNN. Everyone within the bureau will be in a state of shock and then realize how far they’ve fallen.
My sympathies to you and your husband. The job market was ruined by Obama’s policies. Had people like CNN investigated Obama and his cronies, maybe Obama and more Democrats would have lost sooner, giving the Republicans a chance to start turning the economy around. CNN is guilty by association of ruining the hopes of millions of Americans. I do wish you and your husband luck.

Actually, even if they didn’t want to change, they could set up debate/discussion blocks of time as Fox does, but I guess that is too hard for them.

CNN is still around. Boy am I behind the times. I look at my DISH and it has been cancelled by Turner Broadcasting through contract with DISH. Good the CNN DC bureau is going away. What news did it provide Complete Nuisance News - nothing really relevant, but telling the American people that all is well in DC, that corruption and greed are the status quo, and DC is happening place to be.
