Kaci Hickox--Infectious People Lose Some Rights!
Canada Free Press ^ | 11/01/14 | Dr. Don Boys

However, quarantine is not a game and it's a shame for this dame to use it for fame. I pray she never gains fame as "Ebola Kaci."

Is it possible that CDC Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox is another Typhoid Mary? Unlike Mary she may be totally free of infection; but if so, a few days watching television rather than riding her bike is no big deal when lives could be at stake. Like Mary, Kaci refuses to be quarantined and is defying health officials in Maine. Like Mary, she should be confined against her will until she is definitely innocuous.

Mary Mallon, “the most dangerous woman in America” was born in Ireland and later worked as a cook for wealthy families in New York. She was the first known carrier of typhoid fever in the USA, and although without any symptoms, she was still contagious and continued to spread the disease to at least 53 persons (who spread it to others), three of whom died. It is thought she infected 50 others who died but it could not be determined since she changed her name so often. She refused to stop working as a cook and was confined to a hospital where she died 20 years later.

I fear we are not out of the woods yet with the Hick-Ox woman.

Dr. Craig Spenser returned from Africa on Tuesday, October 14. He was diagnosed with Ebola nine days later on Thursday, October 23.

Kaci Hickox returned from Africa on Friday, October 24. Add nine days to that date and you have Sunday, November 2.

Eastern and northern Maine is expecting a snowstorm this weekend. If she starts having symptoms today, tomorrow, or Monday, what is the nearest hospital to her home in Fort Kent? Is that hospital prepared to isolate an Ebola patient? If not, will she be airlifted to Boston?

as far as I’m concerned she can ride her bicycle to the hospital

If she gets snowed-in her live-in boyfriend will take care of her for the duration ...

I’m fine with Kaci Hickock riding her bike and walking her dog and mowing her lawn.

She shouldn’t have people visit her house, and she shouldn’t go into town.

We’re not out of the woods, but she is almost certainly not infectious - right now.

A quarantine for arrivals from Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone has to have a uniform design and correct implementation, or it can’t work.

Neither of these were present in this case, and, as activists (she and the judge) saw the loophole and drove right through.

It’s not too late (unless the Quarantine Act of 1878 is declared unconstitutional), but there is no will, anywhere in the government, to do it.

No problem, build an igloo and put her in it, kind of keeping her on ice. Should keep the fever down too.

And what about MY rights Kaci ?

Your right end where my right begin. And, I have a right to not be infected by you.

If I were to become infected then I have the right to sue you for damages due to your negligence and my family will sue you for wrongful death, and you should be in prison for manslaughter.

Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.

President John F. Kennedy.

Ok. so it did seem heavy handed and traumatic for this lady for three days. When she got a better deal in the warmth and comfort of a residence, she could have thought it over. For the good of all and peace of mind, she could have then complained freely. Worked off her angst in that way.

This while taking the quarantine. After all, three weeks in a comfortable hospital bed would be even more of an inconvenience. This for the average citizen. She knew that.

Not extremely infectious, but she should not be allowed to donate blood, which for numerous diseases, is the most contagious bodily fluid. IIRC, she wouldn’t be eligible for blood donation since she was in Africa, but still, I do think precautions should be taken regarding her blood if she gets a cut or something.

She doesn’t apparently understand that rights refers to society as a whole as well as to the rights of others that you need to consider as well. Situations such as a deadly disease outbreak, or simply a precautionary quarantine as they did for the Apollo astronauts, actually do suspend rights of some people for a time, however, it protects other people’s RIGHTS TO LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.

Additionally, yes, there are numerous suspensions of personal liberty, but things go back to normal on a normal basis.

Cops relaxed the curfew after the Boston Bombing, Habeas Corpus was reinstated after the Civil War was finished, etc.

She is focused on what seems inconvenient to her, without considering that in the long run, it’s no big deal, and it is about protecting other people’s rights, even hers if the quarantine allows early detection of symptoms for herself.

If she comes down with ebola...tell her she's on her own. We don't want to quarantine you...but we're not going to get near you either.

Yes...I'm angry. She's like the woman who says "its my body and I can do anything I want with it." Sound familiar??

I’m sure getting sick of hearing about this Debbie Wasserman-looking loon. I’ll be glad when her 15 minutes are up. Her BS is getting old.

Notice the armed men on the right side keeping the people quarantined. At least someone knew how to do it in the mid 1600s.
