Good evening,
I've been reading up on alternatives to contract cells. Does anyone use Page Plus Cellular? If so, any comments/recommendations? If you haven't, any recommendations? I've read about Ting and Republic Wireless, but there's no coverage in our area.
Thanks, TJI
Disregard my last post. EinNYC answered my question.
Will check that out. Thanks.
4 years with PP. Very happy. Excellent coverage.
Thanks
I have only used their customer service once, and it was very helpful.
I have the Pageplus 1200 talk/text plan for $29.95 per month (no contract, obviously) and I’m on auto-pay so it just bills my credit card automatically each month. The plan includes 1200 talk / 3000 text / 500mb data.
If you need Verizon coverage, Pageplus is the way to go!
500mb of data wouldn’t last me a week
of course I have a laptop
It depends on your needs. They sell their own phones, but will upgrade any verizon phone.
Their 29.95 a month plan is half-way decent. I decided to adios it as I missed a few bells & whistles that came with Verizon.
Thanks. I’m considering PP or CC. The advantage with CC is that they offer a 30 day trial period, and they will allow you to use your old phone.
I use Tracfone which is on the Verizon net where I live. Both my wife and I have Tracfone smart phones which are minimally functional, but for very light use, can’t beat the price.
got it...that is the case with all carriers (contract or non). Find out if the best coverage carrier has a pay as you go plan
One thing I found a bit odd. When I first started using them the customer service people would port a new phone onto your account. At one point they tried to push that onto their dealer network. What works today is to use the chat feature for customer support. I make a text file of the old and new esn and then just cut and past into chat and you’re done in no time. I once had a problem that took a while to fix and they were pretty helpful if a bit confused as to what was going on.
I’ve bought their phones in the past but ebay for any Verizon phone is my usual method. Do a Google search for best PP phones and you’ll get a list of good choices. The new 4G move should open up many better phones.
