Benicia Herald ^ | October 25, 2014 | Dennis Lund

In today’s world, BDS has been supplanted by the Palin Derangement Syndrome and the Obama Derangement Syndrome, which can be lumped under the term: Political Derangement Syndrome, or PDS.

The test is simple: Fifteen multiple-choice questions assess your position on various issues, subjects or people.

Interesting scoring scale.

Score: 15-20: PDS Potential: High
Score: 21- 29: PDS Potential: Moderate
Score: 30- 39: PDS Potential: Very Low
Score: 40-45: PDS: Extreme

if you get 1 point for the right wing answer, 2 for the moderate answer and 3 for the left wing answer you can have 6 moderate and 9 leftist answers and still get a very low political derangement score.

I got a 21. I need to drop that score to get more politically deranged.

16 for me, but the profile doesn't fit at all. An example of a made up test after three cups of strong coffee. No science at all, just this guys preconceived notions, and a touch of humor.

eg:5. Which of the three men would you choose to have an evening with:

• Rush Limbaugh.

• Jimmy Fallon.

• Rachel Maddow.

A better approach would be to examine double standards - example:

If you protested Bush's use of drones to take out al Qaeda operatives abroad, what did you do when Obama expanded such?

A) Protested even harder

B) Shut up about it

C) Made excuses for it.

D) Cheered it on.

And the question can be flipped for Bush supporters - if you agreed with Bush on drones, what did you do when Obama expanded use of such?

This one made me laugh:

You admire: Attila the Hun, George Patton and General Sherman (even if he was on the wrong side).

I am pretty sure the whole thing was intended to be a joke and not to be taken seriously.
