Activists are not only threatening police officers in Ferguson, Mo., but are also threatening their families.

That’s the claim being made by officers in the St. Louis area and it is adding to an already tense atmosphere between protesters and police, according to the local CBS affiliate KMOV.

Look, they choose to believe this; at some point in our lives we start seeing things beyond what we’re being told.

These are just the preliminaries, and one side is demonstrating (military usage) in front of the other.

Two recent articles stick in mind. The first discussed how the massive gun and ammo purchases of the last several years weren’t so much indicative of a populace afraid their guns were going to be taken away, as a populace preparing to go to war.

The second was by Thomas Sowell (I think) where he points out that the only thing worse than a one-sided race war is a TWO-sided one. Particularly where one side disproportionately outnumbers and outguns the other.

I pray that things will never come to that. But increasingly I feel that one side is, recklessly and completely ignorant of the likely consequences, going out of it’s way to provoke its own people and the other side into what will be a real mess. But also one with an entirely predictable outcome.

Well, if you make any money on your self-published book perhaps you can share some of the proceeds with Huxley’s and Frank’s estates.
