The guy didn’t try to use FR as a resource by excerpting, so I don’t believe HG will “attack”.

I took a look at DU to see what they were saying (yes, I disinfected myself afterward). Somebody posted an article by an “expert” who claimed it’s very hard to contract Ebola even if you touch a sick person...if that happens, just use some hand sanitizer and you’ll be fine.

They all bought it.

Let’s hope they’re right, given the way the whole thing has been handled.

From what I’ve read of previous outbreaks and the one ongoing, I don’t think it’s wise to believe that, though.

Since Leo knocked off excerpting, there has been peace in the land.

I kind of don’t think it’s over reacting to demand that something reasonable be done to protect people from a disease that WILL kill them in the most gruesome way if they contract it.

Fine. Let the liberal drones all catch it and die from it and we'll take our country back.

Well, Leo, I certainly hope I'm over-reacting!

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Oh, and a somewhat belated Welcome to FR!

You want to impeach Obama over one guy with Ebola in Dallas? That’s ridiculous. This is the sort of internet overreaction I’m talking about.

It’s a lot easier to fight off disease when you’re properly nourished.

This is true as they found that the meat eaters survived the past swine flu epidemic in larger numbers than the poor who had no meat. But in this day and age I think the Africans probably have stronger immune systems compared to the white bread Americans.

The buck stops here. That comes with the job. Not protecting the border is a major impeachable offense. This could damage national security big time.

Going to DU is similar to listening to what a pack of hyenas are yapping about. Clearly under reacting for political reasons. The only disinfectant that works is bleach based. Get used to always smelling bleach on your hands.

Hey Leo, go tell a group of front line RN’s that they are over reacting. Make sure your personal health insurance is up to date and you have a credit card to pay for your deductible.

American Nurses are rightfully concerned about the lack of training, guidance and necessary personal gear and supplies to handle/treat suspected patients with Ebola.

Nurses stage Ebola ‘die-in’ on Las Vegas Strip.

American RNs say that they are unprepared to handle ebola patients.

He is not talking about nurses, he is talking about regular people on the ‘net. Nurses could very well be confronted with this menace, but the squawking by every-day people may be a bit much.

It is a menace and no doubt “borders” need to be shut, if you will. Maybe this could be the chance to finally reduce the illegal threat as well, and their bag of diseases and pestilence. Such as Entero (if it is from there, and this is the disease I think we really need to watch), and the amazing reappearance of bedbugs.

So, how far or how many need to be infected or die from Ebola for a proper reaction to the threat?

Leo, I think that letting ebola into the country is the “impeach him” straw that broke the camel’s back.

And thank you for your concern, but I will continue over reacting. The government does NOT have my back. I am the only one who has my back.
