If they “can’t” connect them to a big terrorist organization and some big organized plot, the gov’t tells us that there are no links to terror. I won't let Bush II off that easy. Right after 9/11 Bush had a unique opportunity, an opportunity to crush radical islam into dust everywhere it was found. Every civilized nation in the world would have joined that cause.
But instead Bush rambled on about "religion of peace", as you noted. So no, Bush didn't just set us back 25 years. There is no grand strategy. No grand coalition. Bush probably set us back permanently.

Reading his posts as far back as 2012 they were that of a regular street thug. I spent an hour reading back to then and he is one creepy entity.
You left out the GOP elite. Palin and Cruz are probably spitting mad over all this. But Jeb Bush and his buddies have probably already decided that the problem can be solved by outreach programs and sensitivity training.
Kind of makes one wonder exactly what it is that the scoops at the NSA are watching...
