Big surprise, Big Government “liberals” like war, aerial bombardment, World Order (the title of Kissinger’s new book, another big surprise), being Globocop, etc. Doesn’t anyone remember FDR, LBJ, etc.? War is the health of the state. Despite what we spit at eachother in pastime politics, Democrats aren’t peaceniks anymore than Republicans are racists who want to roll granny off a cliff.

Apart maybe from Mcgovern, there hasn’t been a real alternative since the Republican party nominated Willkie, of all people, an interventionist virtually indistinguishable from FDR in foreign policy, amidst the largest antiwar movement in U.S. history. It’s possible bipartisan imperialism goes all the way back to the taming of William Jennings Bryan, I’m not sure. Certainly since WWII no man has been or could be elected president without assenting to it.

Obama’s world peace tour and gimme Nobel Prize were a sham, as we all knew, though perhaps for a different reason. I doubt it, but it’s possible they have dirt on him like people think they have dirt on Roberts. I wouldn’t put it past them.

What’s the difference, if this is the result of Bush trying? Run the world smart, not hard. Or don’t run the world at all, for a change.

Thanks for pointing out the enormous gulf in the two personalities. Bush is patriotic; Obama is not.
Bush was a real Christian; Obama is NOT a Christian.

Using them where? Where were they between Saddam and ISIS? Syria? How smart was it to start a giant war in Iraq, then?

A threat to whom? Us? How hard is it to get people who already want to start a war there to think we’re in danger? People get paid to sit around all day dreaming up reasons to do what others have already decided we’re going to do. As for Obama, what do you think? He was confronted with irrefutable proof in wherever the serious people hang out, and was converted? Is that what hawks think whenever supposed peaceniks become president? That they’re sat down, told the really true truth, and the seriousness finally dawns on them? No, Obama is one of the ones who already wants to go to war in Syria. There’s no secret, extra-special truth out there. They’re as stupid and shortsighted as they’ve always been.

I don’t remember whether they were moved to Syria just before the war started or just after.

I don’t agree with GWB on a bunch of things. I’d say he is too liberal.

But I believe he is a good man at heart. I do not believe he is an evil man certainly. At the time our country was attacked, I am very appreciative of his strong leadership.

He is a respectable CIC.

I can’t say any of that about Obama. The man disgusts me utterly. Something is not right with him, and in a serious manner.

I do believe that Obama is pure Evil.

I would say the difference is this.

When one is attacked, one must fight, and I mean one must really fight.

You kick the damn crap out of your enemy, and if it was a deadly attack, then you kill that enemy dead.

GWB did that, and I respect that about him.

I respect nothing about Obama. I loathe him. I have never seen a more piss poor individual that Barack Hussein Obama.

“GWB did that”

Did he? Who attacked him? Not really Afghanistan, but I’ll let that one slide. What did Iraq have to do with it? Nothing, but we had a previous beef with them and could pretend they started it. Bush did what he already wanted to do, before, during, and after 9/11. It’s the same policy the neocons have pushed since they existed, and though it has a lot to do with “collective security,” balance of power, spreading “democracy,” promoting “American interests,” protecting our guys and containing the other guys, and the price of oil, but little or nothing to do with actual defense of the actual Republic. Certainly it had nothing to do with who or what attacked us and why.

We want to run the Mideast, and we thought propping up our guys in Iraq would help get us there. We want to do this for many reasons, tge least of which is to stop “terror.” There’s a far easier way to do that, but it would involve something we’ll never, ever do again: mind our own business.

I submit Bush-esque meddling in world affairs is the same sort of Big Government nonsense believed in by Obama, only instead of the U.S. economy its guinea pig is the chess board of power politics. Bush believes in Obama’s Big Government (see the ‘08 meltdown) and Obama in Bush’s (see Syria today and Libya yesterday), by the way. They just aren’t as gung ho. Anyway, our masters are as bad at running the Levant or Southeast Asia as they are the health insurance industry. In both cases it’s pure busibodyism. I

By one. I mean America.

America was attacked, and she went to war, lead by the CIC.

That is the correct response.

Whether or not there were other motivations at work, there is no way for me to know.

You might be right about Bush, you might not be. however my gut tells me our current president is engaged in a complete charade.
