PALATINE, IL The Feds are so desperate to make their school lunch overhaul work, theyre going cafeteria to cafeteria to lobby students.
USDA bureaucrat Audrey Rowe has that task and news cameras captured her attempting to persuade students that her idea of a good lunch should be their idea of a good lunch, too.
Rowe, head of the Healthy Lunch Initiative and sidekick to First Lady Michelle Obama during the lobbying and passage of 2010s Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, made an appearance at Palatine High School to serve lunches, with an extra helping of enthusiasm, according to Fox 32.
But the latter didnt help the former go down any easier.
The lettuce is gross, the cheese is like gross. Everything about this lunch is gross, student Jaye Reynolds tells the news station. ...More HERE
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
“Just because the food is bad, doesn’t mean you can’t eat it”
“Be a good little stooge and eat what Mama Michele says”
“Are you a bad comrade???”
Gotta convince these counter-revolutionaries peacefully before we revert to the camps
The story of government in a nutshell.
But seeing Audrey literally lobbying students to like the new lunches, it brings up a question: Is this really how this woman spends her time? She jets around the country to talk to handfuls to students, trying to convince them to eat kale chips and black bean burgers?
No shortage of travel funds when you're on the Federal dime.
Thank God we have a fiat currency and a money-printing central bank that allows the government to pay for any advocacy or arm-twisting necessary for all their social engineering programs.
And people still dispute the fact that a fiat currency is the absolute foundation of Progressive government.
Are the Wookiees Lunches Halal ?
Who hired this woman ?What skill sets in nutrition are on her CV ?
No shortage of travel funds when you’re on the Federal dime. And there is nobody that can spend my dime quicker than a huminist progressive democrat. To them, it’s the “people’s” dime in other words, theirs.
We are taking good food away from you for the common good, comrades.
;-)
I would bet that she doesn’t travel coach on discount carriers.
I would bet that she doesnt travel coach on discount carriers.
OK what is coach again? You are right, I can’t see any of these bratty, egotistical, no-it-all politicians and their minions traveling anywhere regular fare. Too much beneath them.
This debate has been going on for at least decades. The only solution had always been to find the most nutritious foods that kids will eat. Looks like today it’s eat ( throw in the garbage ) what the left wants a kid to. Of course none of those who decide the menu have to eat it.
My favorite story had to be healthy snack machines. Junk food machines were taken out and replaced with machines that only dispensed fruits. They weren’t around long as they got almost no use whatsoever. This was around 1971.
The proper response is: “Where’s my double cheeseburger, you skanky bitch.”
Whatever alphabet agency she works for needs their budget cut by 1/3 immediately. If she still does it cut it by another 1/3.
Is the silly b!tch going to lobby Sidwell’s cafeteria?
As if a government bureaucrat would make a big impression on teenagers anyway, unless passing out free birth control.
We had lots of junk food at our high school during the parodoxically-named “nutrition” periods during the morning. We also had apple machines, and I remember getting sick of the chips and stuff from time to time and switching to apples.
In elementary school, we had good lunches if we ate in the “caf”. Best recalled are two: chopped steak on mashed potatoes and spaghetti, salad and garlic bread.
Each Wed., I think it was, the evening paper would print the menus for next week, and they were up for discussion the following day during recess. If Michelle’s menu had been proposed, the cafeteria would have sat there and gathered dust.
