I dare liberals to buy a McDonald’s franchise, and pay the workers $15 an hour

Liberals are always talking about how easy it would be for McDonald’s to pay its workers $15 an hour.

However, so far, no liberal has actually bought a McDonald’s franchise and paid those wages.

So, I dare liberals to prove that it’s as easy as they claim it is. I dare liberals to buy a McDonald’s franchise, and pay the workers $15 an hour.

I hope they get that increase, then let the food chain automate the whole system, fire about 75% then they will have no one to blame except the unions that are trying to destroy these businesses.

Had a local McD’s that was going to be forced to raise wages to $10.10 an hour under Obama’s government contractor law. They closed.

Understanding the worldviews involved, and the truth about the Nature of Man

helps one to see what’s going on, even with liberals.

We’re all created with the “God-shaped hole” in our hearts, and the desire to fill it and feel closer to Him.

Liberals are humanists, so seek to fulfill that desire for righteousness with their own advocacy.
It’s even one step removed from “works righteousness”.
It’s a lazy, and very tempting worldview.

Everyone will beat down their doors to get an application. And they'll have to turn the majority of them away.

And then those guys will lawyer up and sue for job discrimination or something, and that's even before the first burger is flipped.

Well, Warren (I don’t pay enough taxes) the tax cheat Buffett owns Dairy Queen and you can bet your ass he doesn’t pay them $15/hr.

Except for the managers/owners these are entry level jobs and still are even though many experienced workers are forced into those positions as a result of the fascist Kenyan’s policies.

DQ, McD’s etc generally have a lot of workers where service is unknown. They all seem to want to take the “fast” out of fast food.

It’s too stupid to contemplate-and PC is at the heart of it because NO ONE wants to say ‘you’re not worth $15 an hour’. The JOBS aren’t worth that. So, lets say it happens-you have to pay that much minimum wage. If I own a franchise I have ONE cook ONE cashier and fire everyone else. Or I automate( one big expense then only maintenance) and keep my business open with NO employees ! Oh- and what good will $15 p.h wage do you if the burgers cost $10,and all prices go up to cover it? Now you can’t afford to buy fast food and you’re ‘poor’ again. I swear, what we need is a shortage of stupid. Stupid SHOULD hurt!

Whenever liberals raise the minimum wage (either by law or by protest) who gets hurt the most? Ask your teenager about all his friends who can’t find jobs.

Somebody should produce an article of what a $15/hr min wage business looks like, realistically, automation and all.

Most people believe it’ll be a three way split: prices up about 15%, franchise profits down a third, and brand/franchisor profits down about a third. So if a McDonald’s is worth $10mm now it’ll be worth $7mm in a $15/hour wage world, and McDonald’s, Burger King, etc., would have their market caps decline accordingly.

I don't know if customers will be willing to pay an increased cost for a Big Mac to support higher wages for the employees.

I do know that customers will support paying enough for a double-double or a Chic-fil-A sandwich to support starting wages of $10.50 an hour.

An In-N-Out opened here in the fall of 2012, and a few months later in the beginning of 2013 a Chic-Fil-A opened. These two restaurants are right next to each other, were being built at the same time, and both advertised for employees stating starting wages were $10.50 an hour.

In-N-Out restaurants are all corporate owned. Chic-Fil-A is franchised. Both of these restaurants continue to do great business.

I do have to point out the Hobby Lobby situation.

Here, they pay their starting employees $16 an hour. They have a line of potential employees a mile long. They get the cream of the crop and their employees stick around. They aren’t having people not show up and forced to seek new hires every month or two. The ones who do get in know how good they’ve got it and are loyal to the job.

So let me just rearrange your list here...

Minimum wage = Minimum skillset. Minimum motivation. Minimum education. Minimum attitude.

If you pay people, train them right, and treat them right; you’ll get better motivation and better quality people right off the bat.

You get what you pay for. It’s the same rule with both tools and people.

Now you can’t *force* a company to change their model from quantity to quality. McDonalds delivers cheap food fast. Their business model is cheap and fast. They need cheap and fast workers. You’re not going to turn them into a gourmet restaurant.
