Great point. Every company has its consumers pay its property taxes, personnel taxes, and corporate taxes. Only people pay taxes. I’d love to see that actual number put into the price of goods sold as a separate line item.
You’re brilliant to bring that up.
Just used to it from the massive “extra” taxes hidden in the price of oil.
At that time, 56 cents of every dollar I made went to some form of tax including:
- All Payroll Taxes (Including medicare/medicaid, Social Security, FICA, etc..)
- State Income Tax
- State Property Tax
- State Sales Taxes
I can only imagine how much WORSE it is under Obama.
Do you have the breakouts on that for petroleum?
It is tough to find any complete list. But if you look at an oil company annual report, you’ll find taxes are 2~4 times the profits they keep. That is not including royalties paid to the mineral owners.
