The new cans certainly “suck” but they don’t pour.

Nope, they were sued out of existence, as noted by a poster earlier in the thread. They were a significant employer in their town in NE OK and a bunch of people lost their jobs. Another manufacturer has bought the assets and started operations but it’ll take them a while to scale the ramparts at Wal-Mart to get the same kind of market penetration that Blitz did.

I used to buy a lot of stuff there but I got 3 binoculars in a row which were defective. After I sent the last one back I told them to take my name off their club list and quit sending catalogs.
Well they took my name off but kept sending the catalogs.
The Nato surplus sound like they would be OK since they are brand new.

I bought a bunch of the EZPour replacement spouts for all my gas cans. It’s funny they don’t mention gas, gasoline or anything related to it on the packaging. They are made for “older style cans” is all they say on the packaging. They don’t how any “red” cans on the packaging either. Pretty funny.

One can still get Regular leaded Gas but Ya gotta look for it. My Brother has a place a few miles from the house and that's what He runs in the Boat, I got a place in Old Downtown that sells it.

I have a sore thumb because of these stupid things. It takes about 20 minutes to pour 5 gallons, and all the while you need to hold it just right with thumb pressing.
Not sure what type of can you have, but I bought a "new style" one last year and after a lot of trial and error figured out that the button on it was used to just unlock the spout, which then had to be placed just right into the fuel tank opening then pushed.
There's a little "clip" on the front tip of the spout (actually looks like the forward sight on a rifle) that catches the lip of the opening and when the can is pushed forces the spout depress back into the can about a half an inch. Thus opening the valve fully and emptying the can just as fast as the old models.
This was NOT described in any way, shape or form with the little instruction booklet zip tied to the handle.

I went down to my friendly big box store, picked out the can. Then the young redneck working the department kindly took the spout and with his bare hands, ripped the guts out of that useless CARB-compliant spout. Now it works just fine.

Actually, I’d like to see the California (and children states of Oregon/Washington) environmentalist explain on why there are catastrophic droughts, water shortages and continual wildfires since they have ramped up their environmental rules and regulations. The last 20 - 30 years of these rules and regulations have changed the West coast climate detrimentally. Before they had these rules and regulations they didn’t have all these catastrophes.

I live on a farm and have a dozen diesel and gasoline cans for various farm vehicles and equipment. Best thing I ever did to make it easy to pour gas from a can again was to get rid of the EPA-mandated spouts on plastic gas cans and replace the spouts with the ones at this link, along with rear can air vents to let air in while pouring. Just remove the spouts and replace with the new flexible ones. The rear air vents require a simple hole drill into the can and the vents pop in with a tap of a rubber mallet. They work like a charm and it eliminates all of the trouble caused by the EPA spouts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-WEDCO-BRIGGS-STRATTON-NEW-84037-VERSAFLEX-FLEXIBLE-GAS-JERRY-FUEL-CAN-SPOUT-/170899248098?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

I hate those &^%&*% cans. The stupid Rube Goldberg spouts make me spill gas all over the place.

They’re pretty bad ... The thing that burns me is the “deadman” kill bar/switch that was mandated ... I always use a ball bungee so I don’t have to restart after I leave the mower for a second to move some debris..
