The United States Drought Monitor map is showing that 58% of the state is currently experiencing an exceptional drought stage. This represents a 22% increase from just a week ago.
Droughts can prove devastating to a community as widespread crop and pasture losses and shortages of water in reservoirs, streams and wells accompany drought conditions.

It seems certain that at this rate of increasing drought, millions of Americans, presently living in California, better begin packing their collective bags because it could soon be moving day.
At this point, people are undoubtedly wondering if there isnt something that can be done to save California from this massive drought?
The rest of us don't want them.
The UN should drain all the swimming pools in Beverly Hills.
Of course that means the U.S. will not qualify to be a member.

Drop the “high speed rail” and hire the Israelis to build desalinization plants all along the California coast, a dozen or more.
Then California can end its call on the Colorado River water.
And, build desalinization plants in the Gulf of California, piping the water into Arizona, lower Nevada and New Mexico; then they can end their call on the Colorado River water.
Then, the water levels behind hoover dam might be able to be allowed to rise to levels it held in the past, and its generators will not be near risk of having to shut down, as some think may be necessary within four years if present western water trends continue.
They need to get busy - yesterday.
Baja Sur is one of the safest states in Mexico, I’d hate to ruin that for them.
This article seems like overblown nonsense.
I erred, I meant Norte, but California itself is virtually the same. I think they’d be better off in Chiapas. ;-D
