Do you ever wonder if some of these priests long for us to speak up and speak out? I am thinking a lot about this, and of the old priest saints and others who saw clear heresies and stood against them, come what may.
I have no intention of leaving the Church over these who use her for a vehicle to communism like the Protestants left her. I have already been a Protestant and know how to protest and don’t intend to return outside the Church. I just can’t determine if my duty is to stand out and protest or suffer entirely under what God is clearly allowing to manifest in the Church in these times.
Lord, have Mercy on me, a sinner.
Some of the lefties in the Church are convinced they are right. They truly believe social justice trumps all else. I ask them how killing a baby in the womb promotes social justice and get the usual vomit that comes out of the rats. with the added twist that "I don't believe in abortion, but why should I tell others what to do"? ARGH!
I have given up on them. But the ones who just don't make the connection between faith and politics are the ones I try to go after. In a nice way of course. There are none so blind as those who will not see. The state of denial is deep.
Also, it drives me absolutely insane that people know more about American Idol then they do about their faith or politics. There is a certain segment of society( my mother included), who just avoid anything that is unpleasant. Politics is unpleasant. Adhering to the tenets of the Church is unpleasant. What can you do? Keep praying, it worked in Poland. :)
One might say that politics is now made unGodly. Adhering to the tenants of the Church is now made “political”.
I was lamenting my personal, human dilemma concerning the goings on in the Church, about what I should think and should do just yesterday, before the Blessed Sacrament. It came to my mind a simple sentence; “Nothing good is coming for the Church but for God.” That was clear on one hand and a mystery on the other, given my question.
The Eucharist is Him manifested in the Church “God with us”. The Church is manifested to God in the Eucharist, Him in us and we in Him. THAT is pretty much the capsule I live on, because the joy of obedience to the God-given tenants flow properly from this gift He left to His Church.
How well I am disposed to receive Him is my own labor, on the Way of the Cross. He had His work and I have mine.
Lord, have Mercy.
It would be so much easier if we just voted on the tenets of the Church. Which is exactly we don’t. God know/knew what he’s doing. Do we? Most of the time we do not!
I pretty well annihilated the spelling of the word “tenets”, didn’t I? Thanks for the tutorial by spelling it correctly. :)
Facepalm, here.
I didn’t even notice. :)
It's no wonder that they fight reform.
