Veteran Stopped for No Front License Plate, Beat to Death by 5 Cops
DC Clothesline ^ | May 19, 2014 | Dean Garrison

On Mother’s Day Tommy Yancy, father of two, was pulled over for not having a front license plate. What transpired beyond that point is not totally clear, but his injuries resulted in his death. Yancy, 32, was a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.

There has been almost zero media coverage of the incident. A local publication, Imperial Valley Press, offers only a sidenote about his family raising money for his memorial and this:

The 32-year-old Yancy died following an altercation with law enforcement during a traffic stop May 11 in Imperial. The circumstances around the death and the traffic stop are still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

A source that wants to remain anonymous has come forward with a video and “WeAreChange” posted it to YouTube on Sunday. The quality of the video leaves a lot to be desired, but a lot of information is provided in the “About Section” of the video:

Tommy Yancy, 32, father of two, was savagely beaten to death by five law enforcement officers during a routine traffic stop near the city of Imperial last Sunday, on Mother’s Day. Yancy, a veteran who suffered from PTSD, served in Afghanistan and Iraq in the 259th Field Service Unit following the 9/11 attacks.

Yancy was stopped on his way to the store after a highway patrol officer spotted a missing front license plate on his vehicle. He was subsequently pulled from his car and attacked by a police K-9 unit, hit by a taser, and attacked by five officers until he succumbed to the beating and died. A witnessed, who filmed the incident, can be heard screaming on the recording: “How long before you guys call an ambulance? Call an ambulance!” According to the source of the video, who asked not to be named, his family has not been permitted to see his body, nor have they been given a cause of death.

A close friend of Yancy described him as “shy, and a comedian” and told me, he was an “excellent dad, who kept in contact with his army buddies every week.” He also enjoyed basketball and loved hip-hop music. His sister-in-law, Jaqueline Hernandez, described him to me as “a very loving guy, loved his kids to death… they were his everything. Very funny down to earth guy, and loved by all”.

Officers claim Yancy swung at an officer and attacked the K-9, however, near the end of the video, posted to YouTube on May 12 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoqvX…), police are seen attempting to revive Yancy while a witness states, “All of this for one guy who wasn’t even resisting arrest,”. The officer is said to have received no serious injuries.

Deputies with the Imperial County sheriff’s department were involved in another shooting last month, which took place on April 18. A teenager, Adrian Parra, was killed by multiple gunshot wounds. An honor roll student from Coachella Valley High School, Parra was described by loved ones as “a good person with great goals in mind.” The Sheriff’s department has refused to reveal whether or not the shooting was captured by one of their patrol car’s dashboard cameras. Two officers involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave, but have since returned to their duties.

Read more at YouTube…

The witness claims that Yancy did not resist. The police involved, whether it be Imperial County, the California Highway Patrol, or both, will surely offer another story line. We can not assume that this entire account is factual. Maybe he did resist.

However even if he did resist and regardless of the details, it is hard to imagine a scenario in which a routine traffic stop should result in a man being beaten to death. Yet these stories are becoming all too common in today’s world.

The trial was in Simi Valley and the LA police beat King in Lake View Terrace, in the NE San Fernando Valley.

What are roids?

Shorthand for hemorrhoids. Far too many cops currently have them growing out of the stump above their shoulders.

Wow!!! ...so if this is the modus-op for cops are we to feel “sorry” for them when they don’t make it home?

I don’t see any difference between Muslim terrorists and modern jack boots—not anymore. They serve the same god and aren’t worth the spit on the sidewalk.

I don't make 'em up, I just repost 'em.

And there is plenty to report!

Tell ya what, prove to me that none of these stories was reported.

i believe some are hoping vets go after cops after the cops push them too far to give a pretext to martial law/cwii. admin fears armed vets and armed citizens who shoot far better than the average cop does.

Well my comment about the incident was “why don’t they just waterboard them, at least there is some debate about whether or not that is torture”.

They are used as muscle builders by weight lifters and athletes. They also act as testosterone analogs and provoke “’roid rage” as dangerous in a man as ‘must’ is in a bull elephant in rut.

"How? ...we are going to have to be armed all the time..that is the only way that I can see."

From the Constitution Mainers will be voting on when they vote to secede on June 12, 2018.

Constitution of the Republic of Maine

PREAMBLE. We the people of the Republic of Maine, in order to establish justice, insure tranquility, provide for our mutual defense, promote our common welfare, and secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessings of liberty, acknowledging with grateful hearts the goodness of the Sovereign Ruler of the Universe in affording us an opportunity, so favorable to the design; and, imploring God's aid and direction in its accomplishment, do this twelfth day of June, in the year of our Lord 2018, by majority of the people voting do agree to form ourselves from henceforth into a free and independent Christian Nation, by the style and title of the Republic of Maine and do ordain and establish the following Constitution for the government of the same.

Article I. Declaration of Rights.

Section 1. Natural rights. All people are born equally free and independent, and have certain natural, inherent and unalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing and protecting property, and of pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness.

Section 2. Power inherent in people. All power is inherent in the people; all free governments are founded in their authority and instituted for their benefit; they have therefore an unalienable and indefeasible right to institute government, and to alter, reform, or totally change the same, when their safety and happiness require it.

Section 3. Religious freedom; all Christian sects are equal; religious tests prohibited; religious teachers. All individuals have a natural and unalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences, and no person shall be hurt, molested or restrained in that person's liberty or estate for worshiping God in the manner and season most agreeable to the dictates of that person's own conscience, nor for that person's religious professions or sentiments, provided that, that person does not disturb the public peace, nor obstruct others in their religious worship; all persons demeaning themselves peaceably, as good members of the State, shall be equally under the protection of the laws, and no subordination nor preference of any one Christian sect or Christian denomination to another shall ever be established by law, nor shall any religious test be required as a qualification for any office or trust, under this State; and all religious societies in this State, whether incorporated or unincorporated, shall at all times have the exclusive right of electing their public teachers, and contracting with them for their support and maintenance. Christian leaders, pastors and teachers are encouraged to keep their charges, congregations, students, etc informed of what the government is doing from the pulpit, in private and public conversations, debates or conversation in general. No law is to be passed that limits the rights of Christian participation, leadership, or criticism of the government of Maine, the counties, or the local municipalities. All public meetings are to open with the Lords prayer and close with a Christian benediction thanking the Lord for the preceding and imploring His safety for all leaving the meeting.

Section 3a. Business closed on Sunday. Since it would not be possible for the Republic of Maine to secede and be free without the will and Divine help of the Lord God of Creation, and since the Lord God of Creation clearly states that in six days He created the heavens and the earth and all that is them and on them, and that He rested on the seventh day, the people of the Republic of Maine shall, as a Christian nation, in deep and abiding gratitude to God Almighty, the Trinity, the Creator, allow no businesses any where within the borders of the Republic of Maine, other than those exempted in section 3b, to open on the Sundays from midnight to midnight.

Section 3b. Businesses exempt from Section 3a. Since God in the form of the Lord Jesus, did on numerous occasions in the New Testament, heal on the Sabbath day, we therefore declare that those businesses that are necessary for human life, such as hospitals, pharmacies, and doctors offices may be open on Sundays, but only to offer services and products necessary for human life, products that could not wait till Monday. The Legislature, shall after notifying and consulting with Christian pastors, determine a list of businesses that shall be allowed to open on Sunday in a strictly voluntary manner. No public celebrations, games, or parties shall be allowed on the Sabbath and may not be exempted.

Section 4. Freedom of speech and publication; libel; truth given in evidence; jury determines law and fact. Every citizen may freely speak, write and publish sentiments on any subject, being responsible for the abuse of this liberty; no laws shall be passed regulating or restraining the freedom of the press; and in prosecutions for any publication respecting the official conduct of people in public capacity, or the qualifications of those who are candidates for the suffrages of the people, or where the matter published is proper for public information, the truth thereof may be given in evidence, and in all indictments for libels, the jury, after having received the direction of the court, shall have a right to determine, at their discretion, the law and the fact.

Section 5. Unreasonable searches prohibited. The people shall be secure in their persons, houses, papers and possessions from all unreasonable searches and seizures; and no warrant to search any place, or seize any person or thing, shall issue without a special designation of the place to be searched, and the person or thing to be seized, nor without probable cause -- supported by oath or affirmation.

Section 6. The Militia and the standing army of 1,000. So as to insure and guarantee the rights guaranteed in this Constitution, every natural born male in the Republic of Maine, upon reaching the age of 18 years from conception through age 67 years from conception, has, as a member of the Militia, the obligation to keep and bear arms for the common defense, for his and his families protection, to defend against this government or any government in the future from becoming oppressive, tyrannical, or in any other way obnoxious to freedom, and to secure the rights written in this Constitution. This obligation shall never be questioned. No law shall be passed that restricts this obligation, except for time in a local jail, county jail or Maine Republic prison. No law shall be passed, test given, or fee assessed to any citizen of the Republic of Maine that would restrict in any way that citizens right to be armed either concealed or open. Males who are found to be or confess to being homosexuals are exempted from serving in either the Militia or the standing army. Males over the age of 65 may be voluntary members of the militia with the full rights of Militia members. Natural born males between the age of 16 years from conception to 18 years from conception may volunteer for militia service with the written permission of parents or guardians. The standing army of 1,000 shall be drawn from the militia by the commander of the Militia and is under the command of the commander of the militia who is appointed by and reports directly to the President.

Section 7. All human life is precious and a gift from God. Age is counted from the moment life begins, which is at the moment of conception and as such, all human life is protected from conception to death and has the full rights of this Constitution from conception. Any citizen of the Republic of Maine may use what ever force he or she deems necessary to protect human life. All abortions are considered first degree premeditated murder, children are entrusted, by God the Creator to that child’s parents and as such are the responsibility of the parents, not the state, no level of Government whether local, county or Republic is to, in any way, over rule a parent in the rearing, educating, and/or influencing that child in any way.

Section 7a. Education. All education is left to the local community, to the parents first and foremost and then to the city, town or community in which the family resides. The counties and the Republic are explicitly denied any role in a child’s education with the exception of Militia members while on duty and prisoners while in the care of the county jail or prison of the Republic. The first and foremost responsibility to teach a child Religion, obedience, patriotism, loyalty, righteousness, and to be a productive member of society rest squarely upon the shoulders of the parent(s), the local communities role is to support and reinforce that parental responsibility.

Section 8. Land use ordinances.
