Ask Richard Gage how he came to become obsessed with what he calls the “truth” about 9/11, and you hear what sounds an awful lot like a story of religious conversion.
It was March 2006, and the mild-mannered California architect was driving down the Pacific Coast Highway on his way to a construction meeting. Bored, he flipped on KPFA 94.1 FM, a listener-supported “free-speech” station out of Berkeley — “to hear what the communists were talking about,” as he later told me in a 2009 interview.
Up to that point in his life, Gage had been a staunch “Ronald Reagan Republican” (his words) and an Iraq War supporter. But what he heard on KPFA’s airwaves blew his mind.
“[The speaker] was talking about the 118 [World Trade Center] first-responders — information that had just come out in 2005 — who said they’d heard explosions and flashes of light, beams dripping with molten metal, all amid the collapse of 80,000 tons of structural steel,” he told me. “It hit me like a two-by-four. How come I’d never heard of any of this? I was shocked. I had to pull my car to the side of the road to absorb it all. I knew I’d be late for the meeting. But I didn’t care.”
Shortly thereafter, Richard Gage quit his job and moved out of his family home. His non-Truther friends thought he was acting weird, but it didn’t bother him: Gage now had a new life, traveling around the world as a sort of itinerant 9/11 Truther Extraordinaire, telling audiences large and small that we need a “new investigation” into the Sept. 11 attacks.

Why blow up the buildings when Islamist flew 747 jumbo jets full of fuel into them ?
Why did the pentagon get hit with a 747 as well....wasn’t blowing up the twin towers enought pretense to go to war. ?
That’s the questions I ask the few truthers I know....
I never get a rational answer....nor do I expect one...
Some of the wind went out of the truthers’ sails when the fire from a gasoline tanker caused a bridge to collapse in 2007. So much for fuel not being able to melt steel. It doesn’t have to melt, it just has to weaken enough so thst it can’t support the load anymore. Just watch a blacksmith bend and shape steel and try to do the same with cold steel.
One other thing, it does not matter if it was an inside job or not, just look at the result that it has brought. If they are innocent of the inside job stuff, they have used it to steal our rights, God given not gov. given. Its the way the event has been used that counts. Just my 2 bits.
The effect of supression of liberty doesn’t prove 9/11 was an inside job. Those wanting to increase the power of government were just waiting for any excuse. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of those plans were drawn up to control civil disorder for the Y2K non-disaster.
Every Truther I know either is a current doper - or has a history of heavy pot use.
I think it makes them extra paranoid - yet they never question the lovely folks who feed them this stuff.
They are also Ron Paul ‘ites who are obsessed with chemtrails & they seem to think every major story is a “false flag” - like the Boston Bombing (no one really died - blah blah blah)
I'll give you a rational answer. NO 747 hit either the Pentagon on the towers. And that is an undisputed fact. Truther or not, I'd tell you to do your research before you try to discuss the issue.

Yeah...you are probably right...
The level of the conspiracy that involved literally thousands of unrelated people who witnessed the planes hitting the buildings and the plane debris left over and the visual and photographic evidence makes the attack itself mere child play ...
I mean blowing up two building is easy compared to covering up what thousands of people saw and heard themselves...
At that point I roll my eyes and walk away...
You are dealing with a level of either insanity or stupid that is remarkable..
