House GOP Caves; Told Obama They Will End Shutdown If He Negotiates On Budget, ObamaCare Off Table

BoehnerJohnCrying1

Time to primary every single one of these a**hats:

House Republicans told Obama at the White House that they could reopen the federal government by early next week if the president and Senate Democrats agree to their debt-ceiling proposal. After the debt ceiling is lifted, a House GOP aide said they would seek some additional concessions in a government funding bill.

Obama repeatedly pressed House Republicans to open the government, asking them “what’s it going to take to” end the shutdown, those sources said. He questioned why the government should remain closed if both sides agreed to engage in good-faith negotiations on the budget, according to a Democratic source briefed on the meeting…

Obama agreed to review the House Republican proposal for reopening the government, but reiterated that he wouldn’t pay a ransom, the Democratic source said.

Obamacare?

Nothing...nada...zip.

The whole reason tea-party groups like Heritage Action were okay with a short-term debt-ceiling hike is because, in theory, it cleared the way to re-focus on stopping ObamaCare by digging in on the shutdown. Instead, evidently, Republicans are ready to end the shutdown for a month or more in order to initiate broader negotiations with the White House. Which means that, contra tea partiers’ wishes, discussions over the shutdown and the debt ceiling will end up being “merged” after all. Which in turn means defunding/delaying ObamaCare, if it’s not off the table already, is likely headed for the shelf as the parties focus on deficit reduction instead.

The RINO's have caved and now what do we get in return?

In exchange, they sought a commitment by the president to negotiate a deal for long-term deficit reduction and a tax overhaul.

A commitment to negotiate.

Just when you thought the RINO's couldn't get more spineless they surprise you.

And now we got Boehner to negotiate a budget deal once more. It worked out quite well a few years ago:

I truly believe this is part of the GOPe strategy where they think conservatives will leave the Republican Party to their control yet still vote Republican in the general elections. We need to prove them wrong and take the fight to the primaries at EVERY level of government, leaving them with no choice in the general elections.

Yes, I believe they will still count on our vote.

Won’t happen. I’ll never vote for a democrat. Need I say I consider all RINOS to be democrats themselves?

I guess the NBC/WSJ Rush is talking about spooked them. As Beck says, it’s time to defund the GOP. Tea Party candidates only. No Collaborators need apply.

*******
This was the poll the GOPe was waiting for. It provided the long awaited excuse/cover they needed.

DEFUND THE GOP. Not one dime for the party of appeasement.

Obama said he would talk after he gets what he wants. Fact.

The markets are indicating that some type of deal (i.e., cave) is close at hand. DOW up nearly 90 points.

This is true, and sadly it may require the GOP to go the way of the Whigs and be reborn before we’ll see it improve.

The RINO EStablishment has actually very little to worry about, in their opinion anyway..

They are the recumbents in seats that are quite safe, for the most part because of various demographic factors. About 30% of America still comprises districts in which the Latino-Black-Single MOM-LGBT-Youth-Bureaucrap-Publicly Subsidized-SEIUMember-and other random freebiesucker coalitions amongs us are not in the majority.

Excellent case in point: Boehner's District in Ohio, in which the blue-haired retirees and their surviving spouses still automatically vote Republican and think Eisenhower may still be President, but are not sure.

The people who represent these reliable voters are in it for the money, the perks, and the pork. The country is the last thing on their minds. They made their deal with Democrats two generations ago and it still pays well.

GOP is such a sullied brand at this point, nobody will buy the product anymore. It will go the way of all failed products. People expect a lot more for their money.

There goes the economy, and our national security. We are in for one hell of a world of pain. Pain that America has not seen since the civil war. God help us.

I think the total number of votes cast going down would send a more poignant message.

They get a message, but they quite reliably learn the wrong lesson: They think the voters aren't turning out because the candidates aren't "centrist" (read that: "liberal") enough. Voters are "turned off" by "conservative" candidates. This is how we got Romney and McQueeg.

Here's a gem- I got this in my mailbox about 20 minutes ago:

(Mr. niteowl77),

The Democrats don’t seem to think there’s anything at stake in this shutdown except -- "winning."

A Senior Obama Administration Official was quoted in the Wall Street Journal saying, "We are winning...It doesn't really matter to us how long the shutdown lasts 'because what matters is the end result.'"

House Speaker John Boehner had it exactly right when he responded that "this isn't some damned game." House Republicans have passed dozens of bills to fund people and places affected by the shutdown right now: national parks, children with cancer, almost a million government employees. And every time, Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer block bipartisan votes on this common-sense legislation.

Now we know why – they believe it will benefit them politically.

It's shameful and the American people deserve better. Send a strong message to President Obama, Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats by signing the petition telling them that it is unacceptable to play political games with America's future.

Together we can defeat these partisan games. Please sign now: (url)

___

Together? TOGETHER? TOGETHER?!! Shove it.

Mr. niteowl77

There is still hope, unless this rumor of a cave is true. If that happens, you are correct and it’s probably irreversible. It may already be, and I’m just whistling past the graveyard.

Well, I’d have to know who sent that gem over the transom before I tell them to shove it. If it’s RNC, then they do indeed need to go pound sand. They’re blowing smoke up our butts again.

(As an aside, I refuse to “sign” any online “petition.” Ever.)

They think the voters aren't turning out because the candidates aren't "centrist" (read that: "liberal") enough.

I think the GOPe crowd is stupid, but not quite that stupid. Nonetheless, voting for the opponent of a RINO cannot possible do any good. I am not going to vote for the "lesser of two evils" and I sure as hell am not going to vote for evil in protest.

I hope you’re right. It looked like the GOP might actually take a stand for once, and I was starting to believe this. But I may have been duped.

I really think that a combination of caving on this particular set of issues (ie. Obamacare, CR, debt ceiling) to THIS president would be the death knell for the party. I don’t think that’s an exaggeration. As the old country song said: “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.”

The cave started earlier in the week. Rubio and Paul gave speeches yesterday and didn’t mention obamacare at all. Ryan has been flopping around with some plan. The writing is on the wall, unfortunately.

While that is an interesting sentiment, it’s not likely to happen. It is HIGHLY unlikely that this monstrosity will ever go away if it allowed to take root in the US. It is much more likely that we are witnessing the birth of yet another socialist pogrom that will be tweaked, revised, revamped, adjusted and amended right up to the time of the next revolution; along with all the other rampant socialist pogroms supported on the backs and blood of working Americans dutifully surrendering their earned wealth to be redistributed by the 0bamunists, and their ilk.

Kill it NOW! Don’t allow it to even start!

The NRSC sent it. Here is the link they provided, should hell freeze over:

The NRSC hasn't been concerned about "my voice" since about... well, probably never. I've been registered as an independent for a while, but it's nice of the GOP-e surrender monkeys to keep in touch.
