House GOP Caves; Told Obama They Will End Shutdown If He Negotiates On Budget, ObamaCare Off Table

BoehnerJohnCrying1

Time to primary every single one of these a**hats:

House Republicans told Obama at the White House that they could reopen the federal government by early next week if the president and Senate Democrats agree to their debt-ceiling proposal. After the debt ceiling is lifted, a House GOP aide said they would seek some additional concessions in a government funding bill.

Obama repeatedly pressed House Republicans to open the government, asking them “what’s it going to take to” end the shutdown, those sources said. He questioned why the government should remain closed if both sides agreed to engage in good-faith negotiations on the budget, according to a Democratic source briefed on the meeting…

Obama agreed to review the House Republican proposal for reopening the government, but reiterated that he wouldn’t pay a ransom, the Democratic source said.

Obamacare?

Nothing...nada...zip.

The whole reason tea-party groups like Heritage Action were okay with a short-term debt-ceiling hike is because, in theory, it cleared the way to re-focus on stopping ObamaCare by digging in on the shutdown. Instead, evidently, Republicans are ready to end the shutdown for a month or more in order to initiate broader negotiations with the White House. Which means that, contra tea partiers’ wishes, discussions over the shutdown and the debt ceiling will end up being “merged” after all. Which in turn means defunding/delaying ObamaCare, if it’s not off the table already, is likely headed for the shelf as the parties focus on deficit reduction instead.

The RINO's have caved and now what do we get in return?

In exchange, they sought a commitment by the president to negotiate a deal for long-term deficit reduction and a tax overhaul.

A commitment to negotiate.

Just when you thought the RINO's couldn't get more spineless they surprise you.

And now we got Boehner to negotiate a budget deal once more. It worked out quite well a few years ago:

Third party will only guarantee a continous democrat majority...It’s over.........

Lots of voices against the liberal socialists, but that’s all it will be...noise...
People are too apathetic, involved in their own little personal world, the majority pay more attention to entertainment rather than the situation of politics in our country...Just not enough people to follow through completely on what has to be done to bring back the America our founders envisioned...
I just don’t see a solution in the next 20 years without some form of massive revolt. And I don’t see that taking place.

The Devil is in the details, and I doubt the “offer” is as reported. And Obastard is indeed that arrogant. He’s been rewarded in the past for being a hard-azzed simpleton.

If you follow the link all the way through to the source - Politico - this is not even what it says. Instead, it says that the Boehner proposal is for a budget conference that would come before ending the shutdown.

I wouldn’t be surprised if amnesty was one of the bargaining chips as well.

This is not the way the GOPe does things

*******
The GOPe has an iron grip over the party. The culture of appeasement and status quo is, unfortunately, deeply and permanently ingrained within the party apparatus. The party is merely a cheap facade, with a false conservative veneer.

The Republican Party wants your money and your votes, but not your principles. Buyer beware.

LOL. Don’t hold your breath waiting on that. Obamacare will never collapse under its own weight. Never. The Dems won’t allow it. And unlike the GOP they are willing to use any means necessary to win.

No, I don’t think so either. They will pour an unlimited amount of money, people, and resources into it to make it kind of sort of work at fabulous and mind-blowing expense. It has to work.

It is the law of the land. </BARFSARC>

That's what the Whig Party said. Actually, legal immigration will make the Dems the permanent majority party.

I’ll go a step further....

If Flopping Aces is accurate, I would not only vote against any of those who supported this capitulation in a primary, I would also vote for their Democrat opponent if they make it to the general.

I know several people who used to donate quite a bit to the RNC, but they’ve stopped giving anything at all. Not one dime. They’re still registered Republicans but probably not for much longer.

Its hardd to run anything without money. Just sayin...

And millions and millions of 'conservatives' vote GOP at every election.

That stopped with Romney and the writing is on the wall. I won't support them and I think many others feel the same way. But leaving the party makes the chances of a take over just about zero. I will remain a registered Republican if I have to for voting in primaries.

All this tortured twisting and churning for absolutely nothing. It is no different than 2011. It never will be as long as Boehnor and McConnell are in the leadership.

...I would also vote for their Democrat opponent if they make it to the general.

Could I suggest not voting at all rather than vote for their opponent? I think the total number of votes cast going down would send a more poignant message.

There is a certain battered wife syndrome out there. No matter how bad the GOP treats their 'base', people will still vote for them and defend them.

Gomert on Beck’s show today, just before noon EST, saying that Boehner is now in a meeting with Obama, and is “giving up on 98-99% of Obamacare, so they [RINOs] can say that they got something from Obama.”

So yeah, the cave is in progress.

I guess the NBC/WSJ Rush is talking about spooked them.

As Beck says, it's time to defund the GOP. Tea Party candidates only. No Collaborators need apply.

********
That is a cold, hard statement of fact. To Dems, politics is bloodsport. The ends justifies the means. Lie, cheat, steal. Whatever it takes.

Republicans seem to be incapable of understanding their adversary. I suspect that the Dems must marvel over this.

Let Obamacare collapse under its own weight.

What does this MEAN?

There has to be a MECHANISM.

Has any government program ever "collapsed under its own weight"? No. I guess we'll just have to wait until the whole thing comes crashing down.
