It’s the fault of the “White Flight” - all the ‘rich’ white people who trashed the city on their way out - to go live, high on the hog, in the suburbs with all their wealth that they ‘stole’ from the po folks in Deetroit.
They will NEVER acknowledge that it was corrupt, liberal polititians and a citizenry who just didn’t care to keep up a great city.
To be fair, there are many reasons why Detroit failed. Don’t forget NAFTA’s impact on our industry.
I do offer my apologies to Dr. Ben, Col.West, Alan Keyes and many more honorable Black men who escaped the Plantation mentality. I wish they would turn all their effort back to the Plantation and help straighten out this enormous problem. I think all of these men would be excellent Presidential candidates and hopefully one of them will consider 2016? Now you may call me on my statement that Blacks have notoriously destroyed city governments so how could I endorse these black men for President? It’s integrity and character not skin color that qualifies a man for public office and so far most of the black public officials are still living on the Plantation.

Used to work with a Canadian for a Detroit based corporation. He would commute from Windsor every day. When he first got the job, he had bought a home and moved into Detroit. They lasted about 1 month and got the heck out. Moved back to Windsor. It was just too dangerous. They thought it would be similar to Windsor.
