Sources say memberships are up sharply after the Boy Scouts of America voted Thursday to accept openly gay boys. The new ruling still excludes adults from being leaders in the organization.
"We are pleasantly surprised," said one Scout leader, "Not only are we getting many new boys joining, but they are as intelligent and strong as any we've ever admitted. Don't let anyone tell you being gay means being small and frail."
Statistics show the average new Scout is 8 years old, 5'11" tall, and 215 lbs.
New uniforms and merit badges were officially adopted in yesterday's vote to accommodate gay members.

I wish that attendance would go down, but if we learn anything from the military. There numbers are high and in fact retention is too high. Such a shame.

The military is frequently a career decision and/or a patriotic decision and a commitment. I think most soldiers said to themselves “there aren’t enough rump rangers to be an issue for me AND if one gets near me I’ll punch him into next week.”
Such is not the same for the scouts. All smart parents will worry about their kid being thrown in with, essentially, the opposite sex on things like camping trips, showers, etc. even AFTER those with moral problems such as churches (MANY scout troupes are sponsored by churches) who will be basically forced to cut their support almost immediately.
The only reason this hasn’t already started is because of the delay and the hope (probably not to be) that there will be a reversal in the courts.
After it kicks in, expect 60-70% reduction — and probably a total collapse of BSA within a few years.
We can’t have nice things.

It seems to me that lesbians might have a better claim to join the boy scouts than fairies do.
Membership will skyrocket all right, but the new members will all be over 21 year-old faggots

Probably more closer to 15 years, but that’s what happened in Canada, and we have the numbers to back it up.
