This isn’t a scam. It is widely reported that this years flu has hit an above average number of people and the length of illness can be quite long.
This happens every so often.
Maybe MS only reports verified cases and doesn’t report the common cold as the flu.
This thread is about why poofter shep decided that Mississippi is lying.

He’s always into drama and this flu is over-hyped.
Isn’t the influenza virus a detectable and diagnosed condition? If states are reporting a common cold as influenza are not they the liars?
The only time in my life I had the flu was while I was in the AF (yearly flu shots). I haven’t had a flu shot since ‘92 when I got out and I have not had the flu since.
The UPMC hospitals are filled to capacity with flu cases. I work in them. My primary place of employment is Children’s but I do float to all the urban hospitals. All are full.
I know many people (FReepers) thought the swine flu was all blown out of proportion, but I saw those young, healthy patients on ECMO & dying. It was real...and it happened. Now, I’m not saying that it didn’t come from somewhere and I don’t advocate the vaccine; I’m just saying the outbreak & deaths did indeed occur.
Give them a shot or two of old #7 and watch this so called epidemic break in half.

Correct. Just like when the pig flu panic was going around a few years back. My brother, son, and wife were all diagnosed, but none of them were tested.

And how would you know how bad it can be if you only ever had it once? Either you lied about having it only once or you are as clueless as an obama voter.
Sometimes flu ain't that bad and sometimes it kills you.
Anybody in the deep south. He had absolutely no authority to say that Mississippi was under-reported a damn thing. His omission of California of doing the same thing is proof enough. I don’t give a damn where he is from, I see his Ivory tower every day on FNC. The man owes the Mississippi Dept of Health an apology.

The flu isn’t going to kill a healthy adult.
My brother is in his 70’s and hardly ever gets sick. He became dehydrated and had to have ivs. He still wears his high school size clothes. He hunts and fishes plus takes care of his small farm plus our nephew’s farm. This really knocked him for a loop.
