#4 - I cant tell you how many times Ive been surprised to learn that one of my white friends or associates was a Republican. Ugh. Its a troubling realization. Not only because of the political ideologies; (I dont understand why folk cant see the Republicans are just about money.), but also because the Republican party has been known to associate and or attract the type of folk who cling to racist, sexist and classist thoughts and even behaviors. Theres the tea party folk, the Todd Akin type dudes and most recently people who cant act like they have a modicum of sense or even humanity, at a convention where the party is supposed to be putting their best foot forward. Why didnt they get the memo that its not ok to throw peanuts at a black woman?!
(Excerpt) Read more at madamenoire.com ...
Really? Which party is all about give me more and more and more!
Get your facts right before you post. Wekipida reported that Faubus, Maddox, and Wallace were democrats. Eisenhower was a Reublican.
:)
This is exactly the kind of thing that we on the right have to STOP saying about black voters.
I think it's foolish to think anything else. You're sitting here trying to tell us that 97% of black voters give the other 3% a bad reputation. That's just ludicrous. Blacks think about race in practically all things. Liberals will ALWAYS call us racists, no matter what. You would have us pretend the problem doesn't exist.
I also presume that a great many folks today would not know that George Wallace, Lester Maddox, and Orval Faubus were all democRats ... and Faubus, at least, was an outright communist.
Nor would those folks know that Ike was a Republican ...
After all, "everybody knows" that democRats are "for" the poor, downtrodden, and racial minorities ... and that Republicans are "for" rich white folks who exploit the "working class" and starve old folks.
I’ve made that exact point to leftie “friends” on facebook that were spouting the war on womyn nonsense.
They couldn’t take it. I’m “blocked” LOL!
On average, they do.
I've also heard Powell make what I consider racist statements about Republicans. So your example isn't one.
Powell, he's dead to me.
Ever hear of sarcasm?
I’m quite sure Hoodat knew who belonged to what party. He was making a point that apparently went completely over your head.
Its funny yet sad to watch the ignorant on this forum jostling with the wake up call that some of us have known for 30-40 years
And you know what....most of y’all will remain willfully ignorant
Its probably too late anyhow
I’m tired of explaining reality to stupids
Blacks voting Democrat has NOTHING to do with class, culture, or race. It has EVERYTHING to do with the Democrat party being Santa Clause giving out free money. Blacks have their votes easily purchased through free money. Democrats are the party of freebies and blacks respond well to that. Period. End of discussion.
All the black talk about “equality” or anything else ALWAYS ends with them getting something for free.
Ike was no RAT. Did I miss your < /sarc > tag?
It’s not just Americans of darker skin tone who see the Republicans that way. What I heard all my life in almost 100% white areas of Pennsylvania is that the Republicans are “for the rich.”
Romney won with people with incomes over $50,000 and lost with people with incomes under $50,000 by the exit polls, by at least 10 points on either side of the coin.
What the Republicans need to convince people of is that their policies don’t just benefit wealthier Americans. Solve that problem, and the party could dominate again.
I say, I say, boy.. that’s the joke, son!
/said in a Foghorn Leghorn voice, for the full effect.
See, I know this photo is fake, because Forrest Gump is not in the picture.
:-)
//Ever hear of sarcasm?// Good sarcasm is obvious and if there is any doubt, you /sarcasm. This was too real to be sarcasm. Do you know Hoodat? How do you know what he/she meant?
No joke to me. Too many people out there were not around when all of that was going on. Most of them believe anything they read.
The fact that Mitt never once brought up the facts is what gets me.
He never once mentioned the REPUBLICAN party is what pushed the civil rights acts through.
He never once mentioned that he FATHER marched with MLK.
He never mentioned that the DIM party is historically the party of real racism and Jim Crow laws.
The republican establishment NEVER asserts itself and I think it is clear evidence that there is really only 1 political party in this country. I’m going to change to independent—by the time any presidential election reaches my state the nominee has already been chosen by the media, Iowa and new Hampshire. (FL)
No,they are about freedom, natural rights, and the production of wealth which leads to prosperity.
Sigh.It is so easy to be a libtard when you are an ignorant victim of progressive education.
No doubt. They're called L I B E R A L S, westbrook from nowhere.
republicans are all about money, so they vote Rat so they can get welfare checks, food stamps, free cell phones, and free self esteem.
Can’t fix stupid.
Brilliant! I see we have morons even here at FR that can’t see sarcasm in front of them.
I don’t know who I feel sorry for more.
The current American Marxist line, from someone who apparently either works for the Ministry of Propaganda, or should.
Thanks for reminding me. I way down on my quota of throwing old people out into the streets this month.
“Its a troubling realization. Not only because of the political ideologies”
What’s troubling is that there are citizens in this country who choose to be slaves. It seems that victim-hood is a lifestyle that some actually enjoy.
Too real to be sarcasm? That’s why it was brilliant. Maybe he just assumed, as I would, that any conservative or Republican over 15 would KNOW the difference and understand the context of his humorous post within this thread.
It’s no wonder we can’t win elections.
I’m stealing your entire post. Thanks.
Listen, if you think 98% of blacks voted for Obama in numbers sufficient to reelect a bad president, because he’s... a nice guy?...great president?...liberal?
More power to you. Black Americans are hugely conditioned to think in racial terms, and those of us in the real world have to hear it all the time.
Librarian: your time is up on the computer. Response: you’re being racist. Coworker: do you like chicken? Response: do I LOOK like I like chicken? Little kid at school: too many damn white people here. Overheard: I’ll never vote for G Bush he vetoed hate crimes law in Texas. On and on.
Race is a red flag in front of a bull, and democrats waive that thing like a matador and blacks charge to the polls.
You can debate why, whose fault, right or wrong but yes black voters are incredibly responsive to racial arguments.
It would take the forceful action of Democrat President Dwight Eisenhower to ensure that Arkansas schools would be integrated.

One time many years ago my buddy and I were walking around enjoying the festivities at the Fourth of July celebrations at Williams Air Force Base when a couple of African-American airmen drove up with their trunk lid open and the trunk filled to the brim with watermelons. I couldn't resist. I looked at my friend and said, "How stereotypical."
I have alot of black friends and the watermelon and chicken one is real. Had a 4th of July party where we served broasted chicken and all the normal sides which included watermelon. My buddy ate everything but those two.
The rest are just proof that the author lives a more sheltered life than the average Amish kid. The reason you don’t speak “ebonics” in front of white people is because its impolite to speak a different language infront of other people. You dont talk about TV shows with people you know didn’t watch them. I dont ask my coworkers if they caught the last rugby match on El Ocho because I know they havent! Go ahead and dance in front of us, we may laugh at you though.
I will eat chicken and watermelon in front of anyone. LOL
To quote Dave Chappelle, “If you don’t like chicken and watermelon, something’s wrong with you!”.
Were they signing and clapping too?
signing = singing
I found the article rather stupid. It was just fun to make comments on it.
