Allen West, absolutely the best choice! He stands toe to toe and nose to nose with the lying scumbags. Takes no prisoners and makes no apologies.

I’ll actually take the bait here.

I’m a Ted Cruz Republican, but I think Petraeus is the best choice.

It would virtually guarantee an obama loss.

Petraeus is probably no conservative...most likely a “pragmatist”. But I suspect he is no Marxist, and he is pro-American. He would be able to stop the bleeding.

It might be too late already. But if the country is to have any hope, obama has to be beaten, and Petraeus would virtually guarantee that, in my opinion.

(The look on the democrats’ faces would also be priceless when the announcement is made....they would know they were history).

Palin or West. I would be happy with either one.

Most of the others frequently mentioned are awful, IMO.

Not on anyones radar but a formidable pick for OHIO and PA! She was Lt Gov of Ohio prior to becoming Chief Justice of Ohio Supreme Ct. Educated in PA.
Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor is the 10th Chief Justice in Ohio history and is the first woman to lead the Ohio judicial branch. She first joined the Supreme Court of Ohio as an associate Justice in January 2003. She was re-elected in November 2008 and then as Chief Justice in 2010. Born in the nation's capital, but raised in Strongsville and Parma, Chief Justice O'Connor's career in public service and the law spans three decades and includes service as a private lawyer, magistrate, common pleas court judge, prosecutor, and Supreme Court Justice. She earned her bachelor of arts at Seton Hill College in 1973 before going on to earn her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, 1980.

BTW, I think that Romney should SEAL his Federal and State Tax Records when he announces who his Veep will be.

While I post sporadically, I have been reading the site for over three years (and my posting history proves it). Take your accusations elsewhere; the “attack whoever I can” mindset of some on this site is tiring.

Please tell me more about Maureen O’Connor. Any examples of conservative credentials?

I think she ran as a law and order candidate and has won Ohio elections by comfortable margins as Lt Gov and Supreme Ct Justice/Chief. I’m not from there so I don’t know her, but she would draw strong support in two states we need.

McDonald would help win VA and draw support in th south but, I believe the south will not turn out well for Obama in any case and a strong midwest female might get folks to take a second look at Romney in that region.

Paul Ryan would probably be my choice. John Kasich would be a good choice, too.

But as to the person I think it will be (not my choice, but my guess), I've ranked them in four categories, and from most likely to least likely within each group:

Top tier, the finalists (1-4): Marco Rubio, Bob McDonnell, Paul Ryan, Rob Portman

Second tier, possible (5-8): Tim Pawlenty, Susana Martinez, Kelly Ayotte, John Thune

Third tier, not likely (9-10): Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal

Shed a tear, no chance: Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Condoleezza Rice, Michele Bachmann, Allen West, Herman Cain
