This can be easily veriified at https://www.iardc.org Stands for Illinois Attorney Registration And Disciplinary Committee. It's the official arm of lawyer discipline in Illinois; and they are very strict and mean as hell.

1. President Barack Obama, former editor of the Harvard Law Review, is no longer a "lawyer". He surrendered his license back in 2008 in order to escape charges he lied on his bar application.

A "Voluntary Surrender" is not something where you decide "Gee, a license is not really something I need anymore, is it?" and forget to renew your license. No, a "Voluntary Surrender" is something you do when you've been accused of something, and you 'voluntarily surrender" your license five seconds before the state suspends you.

2 Michelle Obama "voluntarily surrendered" her law license in 1993. after a Federal Judge gave her the choice between surrendering her license or STAND TRIAL FOR insurance FRAUD.

There could be many reasons come to mind, firstly to keep the lic to practice at court she would be required to keep taking education classes (rule 759) and pay fees among other requirements.

Rule 759 also explains how to reinstate to active status.

I was licensed for a Mo-ped as a teen but have since not renewed that lic. because I no longer have a need for it. If she was not going to practice law (note that only means in a court room from what I can glean from Il. Rules) why would she maintain the lic ?

I have no problem believing that Michelle Obama may have lost her license due to indiscretions but unless I have factual evidence that she did, I'm treating the source just like I did Dan Rather and his bogus claim of President Bush being AWOL from his ANG service.

I went to your posted Liberty.com website and found that the rhetoric he posted was taken directly from another blog (which he linked to and which also offered the disclaimer of "rumors").

And when I did a google search on "Michelle Lavaughn Robinson" I found literally tons of other blogsites echoing the very same thing but none of them providing the actual facts surrounding the loss of her license...........or Obama's for that matter.

So while it's nice to believe the worst from the first couple, I'm not offering any of this up for argument in a room full of liberals until I have ALL THE FACTS...........

This ADRC is for discipline reasons...not for those volunteering to stop practicing. It is COURT ORDERED...not “Michelle Obama ordered.” Their website is very clear about their function and why they step in. (see below)

Mitch your enthusiasm is wonderful but please go read the rules of Il. Court they are easy to find by google. Those of us that have done so know that the dark spin you attribute to the data is no more accurate than the MSM claiming she was a great lawyer or that B.Obama was a great professor.

Don't you think that giving it up after 3 years is a little strange?

Remember, she only got the license after having spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and a commitment of at least four years.
