Gingrich: Sure, I’d Be Romney’s VP
NRO ^ | March 26, 2012 5:37 P.M. | Katrina Trinko

Newt Gingrich said today he would be willing to be second on a Mitt Romney ticket.

“No, I wouldn’t say no,” Gingrich said on Fox News Channel’s Your World with Neil Cavuto about what he would do if he was asked to become Romney’s vice president. “I can’t imagine him offering.”

He also blasted Obama’s remarks caught on mic to Russian president Dmitry Medvedev. “The question it raises is how many countries, whether it is Iran or somewhere else has he had a similar conversation with?” said Gingrich. “You know, let me pretend I’m tough long enough to get reelected, then I’ll take care of you. I think it’s a very chilling comment because where Rick Santorum might have lost his temper for a second; this is the President of the United States, supposed to be defending us, telling the Russians that he’s willing to give something up that he can’t publicly admit to now.”

“So, I think the question for the President ought to be what is it you plan to give the Russians after the election,” he added. “Tell us now so the American people can decide whether or not that’s a future, a gamble that they want to take with their safety.”

So, today we learn that BOTH Gingrich and Santorum are willing to be Romney’s VP. That’ll be hard to chew for some of their FR supporters here.

It wouldn’t affect my vote if Mitt offered, unless Romney asked Newt to take the top spot on the ticket or Mitt had a medical problem that would prevent him from serving more than a few months of his term. Biden, Cheney, Gore, Quayle, Mondale, Rockefeller, Agnew, Humphrey, Barkley, Wallace, Garner, Curtis, Dawes . . . it’s a long and in most cases irrelevant list.

I'm too shell shocked from this whole primary season to let a little thing like this bother me...

Anybody else smell Breitbart? All of a sudden things are going real wrong for Zero media knee-padders.

And I’m about 90% sure Martin-Zimmerman was a trap: look at all the big Hollywood it sucked in.

If Newt were to accept such an offer after the scorched-earth character assassination Romney did on him, I would be VERY disappointed, and that’s putting it mildly.

Makes no difference. Romney is a disaster and will lose.

“BOTH Gingrich and Santorum are willing to be Romney’s VP.:

Palin did run with McCain..... so at this point I have nothing left to say but America might not be saveable unless the GOP implodes. It’s a sad fact but the truth.

I suspected that these guys, along with Ron Paul, were in cahoots with Mitt Romney all along. The whole thing was a sham.

It is not that I am believing this report or the report on Santorum directly.

The fact is these clowns are ALL politicians and they are ALL going to disappoint us.

This is it. America is finished and it has happened on our watch. Great job for the kids!!! Thanks GOP - THEY ALL SUCK.

When McCain picked Gov. Palin, and I heard her speech at the convention, I enthusiatically supported the ticket at that time. Romney picks Gingrich, I dunno. It would take a lot more from romney than I am seeing to support that.

Please show me where Newt said, “sure! I’d be Romneys VP”. I must be blind because I can’t find it. I do see 10 words regarding this subject, but thats about it.

No, they are not ALL the same......

...Santorum has admitted to 2 days off at Thanksgiving, and 3 days at Christmas....

...he should take more time off, but he committed to pursuing this and it takes 24/7

If you're a praying person pray for him.

I believe he is sincere.....

... I also believe the enemy will not let up and there's just so much a body can take, day in day out, with misquotes, lies, innuendo constantly.

Even the prophet Elijah ran away and was broken after confronting Ahab and Jezebel....

.. he was exhausted and spent.

But the angels ministered to him and renewed his strength...(and of course we know what happened to Ahab and Jezebel---it wasn't pretty).

Pray for Rick to have a renewed strength and courage and not lose heart.

I will continue to pray for him and support him.

Oh I do and I will. I believe Santorum has been chosen for this battle but you really nailed it on the head.

This is about good versus evil and unfortunately evil has a huge lead.

Seconds left to the game and we are down by more than 15 trillion!

It will take a miracle to turn this around.

The Bishop oughta be Newt’s VP. Just think, Bishop Romney going, as is a VP’s secular duty, to foreign funerals to baptize dead leaders of allied nations, as is his religious duty. Perfect, just perfect, man!
