Ron Paul Takes Swipes at GOP Rivals, Says Michele Bachmann ‘Hates Muslims’
ABC ^ | December 17, 2011 | Jason M. Volack

Posted on 12/18/2011 1:16:23 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Ron Paul has gone Hollywood.

Appearing on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” Friday, the presidential hopeful took a swipe at his GOP rivals telling the crowd that Michele Bachmann “hates Muslims.”

When asked by host Jay Leno what he thought of his rivals, Paul shook his head, slowed his voice and said, “she doesn’t like Muslims, she hates them, she wants to go get ‘em” — in reference to the comments Bachmann has made on the campaign trail over her willingness to attack Iran over its suspected nuclear program.

Bachmann, who is campaigning today in Iowa, rejected Paul’s comments.

“Of course I don’t hate Muslims,” Bachmann told ABC News adding “that’s an absolutely outrageous statement.”

...“With all due respect to my colleague, I think Ron Paul would make a very dangerous president because he doesn’t understand this threat,” Bachmann added.

The comment was especially surprising for Paul, who up until now has shied away from personal attacks.

The comment even left the audience and host Jay Leno momentarily stunned.

In reference to Rick Santorum, Paul said he can’t stop talking about “gay people and Muslims.”

.....Paul used the rare late night appearance to elaborate on some of his libertarian leaning positions such as getting rid of federal drug laws in favor of state regulations.

...Paul walked out to a standing ovation by the mainly youthful audience. The fact wasn’t lost on Leno who noted that he drew lots of support from young people.

“Young people are principled,” said Paul adding that “after a while you get mixed up.”

Paul added that the federal government should “protect the right to do with our own body what we want.”

....The Congressman again said he has “no intention” of running on a third party ticket but added he hasn’t ruled it out.

I think a lot of Ron Paul’s support is cynical (follow the money). Young people "looking forward" to no jobs in the Obama depression, or working on degrees in areas where government money could fund a study, a program (their professors have sucked on this tit for decades) -- instead of being “wasted” to support the "evil" military and “misguided” war on drugs -- which also ties into what they've been taught in many institutions of higher education -- all those misguided, useless degrees and “green” thinkers think Ron Paul is the Rx for what ails the country. So they're leaving support for Barack “hope and change” Obama at the school house/no job market door and flocking to Ron Paul which has the sweetener of hurting those evil “rich” conservatives who are destroying the planet and are ready to “bomb” the world.

The problem for them is -- they never will get the money; it always finds another home. With the debt and deficit ballooned out of sight, that money isn't heading in their direction. The naturally productive ones will eventually “grow up” and realize the truth about living in a safe, free market society but many will hang fast to the hope (libertarians for sure) that once the "war on drugs" and the "evil military complex” have their wings clipped, some of those trillions of “wasted” dollars will certainly flow to them. It won't and their lot will be worse. We have for too long been building “me-me-it is” generations, whose values and goals are nurtured and fanned by teachings of socialist professors spawned in the Sixties who have multiplied themselves with our youth.

So Ron Paul is their cup of tea. They’re only one step away from OWS (most likely have a foot in both camps already). If Ron Paul definitively said, "I will not run third Party," much of his support would evaporate today. Which is precisely why he has not ruled it out.

Bachmann hates Muslims? Well, at least she’s got that going for her.

Paul’s ignorance concerning the Muslim “faith” is stunning. They ARE all bad. The basic tenet of the faith is to kill anyone who won’t convert. If a Muslim became good, he wouldn’t be a Muslim any longer.

Paul added that the federal government should “protect the right to do with our own body what we want.”

So, if we kill other people with our bare hands, this should be allowed, since we are doing with our own bodies what we want?

Paul added that the federal government should “protect the right to do with our own body what we want.”

I'd go along with this if the pro pot crowd would go along with paying for their own medical attention and joblessness that results from doing with their own bodies what they want.

Did Paul remind them that that's part and parcel of his "do what thou wilt" beliefs. Did they give him a standing ovation for that stance? Of course not.

They just want to get stoned and then have everyone else pay their way through life.

Bunch of freeloaders.

TIR: “Greetings and welcome to Kevin’s Korner. A good writer possesses not only his own spirit but also the spirit of his friends … Maybe I need some friends.

Ron Paul is going to win the Iowa Caucus. As of Thursday afternoon, that was the entire basis of my opening paragraph for this column. Then Paul pulled a Hari-Kari on his own campaign, showing his utter ignorance about the threat of radical Islam. I don’t see how any sane person could want this man to be Commander-in-Chief … He still might win Iowa. But he’ll never win the GOP nomination.

What would happen if Ron Paul won the Iowa Caucus? The results would become totally insignificant, we would lose our first in the nation status and Mitt Romney would waltz to the GOP nomination.

Dr. Paul’s response to the whuppin’ he received Thursday night? Straight out of the Democrat playbook, of course. After all he admits he’s further to the left than Obama … Paul said Michele Bachmann “hates Muslims” and Rick Santorum hates “gay people and Muslims”… If they gave him a little more time, Paul was also going to accuse them of mugging old ladies, eating kittens and renaming Vets Auditorium … On the bright side, at least they don’t use caterpillars for eyebrows.

......The Gingrich campaign should make a campaign ad with this, pronto. Although she’s relentlessly bashing him now, Michele Bachmann heaped enormous praise on Newt Gingrich three years ago … Caucus goers might want to keep these statements in mind when you hear her criticize him today. “Beloved friend… made an indelible mark…changed the course of the United States…leading conservative … architect of the revolution… … What a treat, Speaker. This is real. This is from the heart. We love you here. We love you.”

http://www.mediaite.com/online/rush-limbaugh-blasts-ron-paul-for-running-to-the-left-of-president-obama-on-iran/ At this point, Rush Limbaugh‘s offensive against Rep. Ron Paul has become something of a regular feature on his program. So it’s not entirely surprising that Limbaugh’s anti-Paulism has seeped into his commercials, too– or at least in parody. This week, Limbaugh debuted a “pro” Rep. Paul ad that featured the “candidate” arguing “the greatest danger is not from Iran, it’s from us overreacting.” Surely this will go over well with Paul fans.

Good post.

Hope the responders don’t get sidetracked...your point wasn’t that it’s good to hate all Muslims, and that if she hates Muslims like Ron Paul said, she should be considered presidential material.

Paul is a malevolant political force, not a force for political good.

Whether Bachmann hates Muslims or not is a total red herring. Paul’s point was that she’s too anti Iran.

Absurd. The other candidates have just as well recognized and spoken to that Iranian threat against Israel, the entire Middle East, Europe and America. Paul is just miffed that she went after him so strongly in the last debate.

He could just as well have accused every candidate of hating Muslims, because all of them except him understand the problem Iran represents.

We could say the same about Iran if they weren’t a Muslim country but were acting this way.

I don’t hate all Muslims. I totally disagree with and oppose the religion. I’m wise enough to see that some Muslims actually fight with us and die in the same cause we do, against al quaida and the Taliban, for example.

That has nothing to do with who should be President of the United States, except for sure it shouldn’t be Ron Paul.

Paul attracts the young, primarily, because the young are looking for pie in the sky solutions to real problems that trouble society and trouble them personally. The young are lured by the false promise of...just follow this person, or just follow that idea...and the things that you’re concerned about will be fixed and will be wiped away.

As CW pointed out, one of their big concerns is the allocation of resources and how that will affect their lives now, and in the near future. Another big concern is possibly being sent to war.

The only brightness I see in the clouded Iowa Caucus picture if Paul wins or does very well there, it will discredit the importance of that process in terms of letting it guide what others should do in states with real primaries.

People need to back up, and refocus on what this election is truly all about - a freedom killing, job killing, all powerful Federal Government - and who can get us where we need to go as a country.

I don’t see how this would make any sense. Paul wants huge spending cuts and to shrink the size of government; sure, that includes military spending, but it certainly DOESN’T mean spending it on useless, pointless green nonsense. I can’t see where anybody would get that idea.

It’s true that I like Paul because I like the idea of keeping MY OWN money, but that’s not the same thing.

Having said that, I think his remarks about Bachmann & Santorum went too far; it’s fine to criticize their policies but don’t pretend you know their secret psychological motivations. I don’t like that.

There you go again CB. How do you sleep at night? You really have an agenda, don't you? Here are the facts again, for the thread. You already know them. Are you still promoting the lie that Gov. Perry's single daughter Sydney is married to a high ranking Imam? I mean really. You smear merchants are really too much.

Dec 4, 2011 Rick Perry and Sharia, and Robert Spencer “Robert Spencer posted an attack against me on this site regarding a series of articles I wrote last summer debunking the meme that Governor Rick Perry foisted "pro-Sharia" classroom materials on children in Texas schools. Although I hadn't planned to revisit the Perry/Sharia debate, the sheer nastiness of Spencer's attack has, in the words of Michael Corleone, "pulled me back in."

As I'm a guest here on AT, I can't be as verbose as I am on my own site. What I'll do, though, is provide a brief overview of this manufactured controversy.”…..

David Stein: Debunking the Rick Perry “Pro-Shraria” School Curriculum Myth

Amil Imani Governor Perry's Islam Connection ………”No matter how I tried, I couldn't reach the conclusion that this inclusion promotes Islam or is pro-Sharia. It seems that the mere fact that Islam is included in the curriculum represents supporting it. And with regard to the concern that the education curriculum Perry promoted is pro-Arab and against Israel, the evidence is exactly the opposite. …”

Perry’s “Pro-Sharia” Curriculum DebunkedThe back-and-forth within the anti-sharia community about whether or not Rick Perry is a “fifth columnist” candidate continued this week, with Center for Security Policy’s Dave Reaboi and Ace of Spades both coming to Perry’s defense.

At Counter Contempt, David Stein also analyzed the “controversial” Muslim history curriculum Perry helped coordinate in Texas, and skewered the idea that it’s a pro-Sharia program. You can comb over the whole plan here, but here are a few excerpts:

1. Countries of Western Civilization have secular governments, which means great toleration of cultural and religious differences.

2. Countries of Islamic Civilization for the most part either have religiously dominated governments or demands to make them more religious, which mean less toleration of cultural and religious differences.

3. Muslims often lack respect for Western traditions and points of view. The Muslim relationship to the West is colored by the belief that Western beliefs [whether Christian or atheist] are defective and therefore inferior to Islam.………

Find just once that I even mentioned that in any post anywhere. If you can’t, then admit that it’s obfuscation to what I am saying. Not once have I ever mentioned Perry’s daughter. I have no knowledge of Perry’s daughter. Keep bringing that up and it just shows the dodging and weaving from the truth of what I do post.

Bringing up a defense for things not in my post only show that the content of my post is legitimate and indefensible.

Bachmann followed Paul off the deep end. She was on Huckabee last evening and all she could do was run down all of the threats to her pathetic, shrinking campaign. (Perry not included)

Forget talking about solutions or ideas to fix the country. Just keep spewing hateful, destructive rhetoric at candidates who have never attacked you in the first place.
