I think this was the best debate so far this year. I really like how Newt stood up to defend his stance on immigration. Who do you think won?

POLL: Who won the 11/22/2011 CNN Republican National Security Debate? Vote: Click Here

Without a doubt it was Newt, our former speaker and next president.

Newt lost because you cannot give a 5 second response concerning amnesty.

If Newt had announced his big “IMMIGRATION PLAN” before the debate,
and given speeches talking about it, that would be one thing. I understand
immigration is complex.

TO DROP AMNESTY IN WHATEVER FORM IS in a debate is not a good political move.

You lose your audience.

I AM HUMANE NEWT. THAT NEIGHBOR BROKE THE LAW 25 YEARS AGO,
and he never paid a price. He got the benefits of living in this country.
He is morally wrong and he can never repay it.
He is going to have to pay the consequence of living underground,
working illegally, driving without licenses, and I am the one who is not humane?

That is exactly what is wrong with Newt, his position changes according to what is politically expediant.

He should be nowhere near the White House.

Gingrich blew it with his support for amnesty and for H-1 visas to allow cheap Indian and Chinese engineers to displace American engineering talent.

He fails to realize that the only difference between an illegal border crosser caught by the Border Patrol today and the one that’s been here 25 years is that the 25 year guy has been breaking the law 9,125 days longer.

As Newt himself would say, if he had the brain he is reputed to have, it’s absurd to think that if break into the country illegally, it’s OK if you can get more than 25 miles across the border, or more than 25 days without being caught.

Using the Gingrich logic, John Demjanjuk, an 89 year old American citizen with American children and grandchildren who was deported and denaturalized in 2009 because he was a Nazi prison camp guard in the 1940’s, should have been allowed to stay here forever.

What is the difference between Demjanjuk and these other illegals?

Yeah I’m gonna go with Ron Paul. Defend the constitution and don’t put out soldiers lives on the line for some pussy assed Harvard MBA’s idea of foreign policy. If some of the folks here don’t like that, all i can say is - tough shit.

I thought Santorum and Bachmann shined tonight. They all sounded smart and serious which was like a breath of fresh air compared to the Dems’ verbal excrement.

...But no Republican candidate is going to get any traction in the campaign by advocating deportation — which the Dems would promptly frame as a humanitarian crisis. The Repub would not have to advocate deportation. Simply turn off all benefits and they'll self deport. Strict enforcement of E-Verify and heavy, heavy penalties for employers who hire them, and they'll simply leave. No welfare, no jobs, and they'll self deport.

I do not like Newt’s answer any more than you do, but do not forget.....those illegals who have been here 25+ years? That whole flood of illegals was started as a result of Ronaldus Magnus’ amnesty in.....1986, I think it was.

Sorry, he supports it just as I think. The fact that someone has been able to carry off a continuing crime is not a reason to allow the criminal to stay. I don’t care what his anchor babies are doing. Leftists, who want to replace real Americans as voters with people from the Third World, and business interests that want cheap labor are counting on stupid sentimentality to carry the day.

New is sounding like Mittens.

He's not smart enough to avoid repeating the same mistake Rick Perry made.

Perry = you have no heart.

Newt = you are not humane.

No thanks to both.

It is exactly the moral cowardice of failing to demand that the law be followed that has allowed this situation to develop.

Anyone notice during the introductions how Romney walked out like a female model on a pageant runway?
