Occupy Wall Street got some more star power on Friday as music legends Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie joined the demonstrators in their march to the upper West Side.
Using a walker and wearing a red-knit cap, the 92-year-old Seeger marched from Symphony Space to Columbus Circle.
The Associated Press reported he shouted out the protest anthems along with the crowd of about 1,000 people.

And a World War II veteran. Seeger was (and maybe still is) blind to the fascism of the far left, but he is a US veteran and he served honorably.

I find it interesting that Seeger and a self proclaimed commie like Dashiell Hammett didn’t hesitate to enlist to fight. The Left just wouldn’t hear of this today. They are utterly devoid of patriotism.
Can’t stand Bob Seger’s voice. It sounds “made up”, like the way the name “Art VanDelay” was made up.

Good point. And think about the many Hollywood stars who served. Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable, Glenn Ford. Even Bea Arthur (TV’s “Maude”) served. She was in the marines!
You sure don’t see anything like that in today’s Hollywood.
Most of the Lefties back then didn’t want us to get involved when Germany and Russia were allies. But as soon as Germany attacked Russia, then they were all for us getting involved. So while they did serve, it wasn’t with the most noble of intentions.
Just remember, communists love war and bloodshed. Russia and Cuba, Asia, and even the socialist revolutions in Europe way back. The communists we have today are not really communists. They are something else, I dont think there is a label for it. They want everything, and they want to believe that everyone could have everything, but they dont know how to get anything. I think they are really just lost and wandering.

There are different degrees of everything, including Communism. Watch a great Chinese film titled “To Live”. Made in 1994, even before the great surge of capitalism in China, this movie is more critical of Communism than anything produced in Hollywood 1994-today.
By the time of the Cultural Revolution, you see an artist in the movie give up his shadow puppets for the demanding commies—for the microscopic amount of metal contained in them.

That is because they wanted to fight to protect the Socialist Motherland, Stalin's USSR, not the USA.
The last i heard Guthrie was a Republican; Seeger is just there for the very young girls..
anyway, bet they never thought they'd be camera fodder again.
