But if I was wondering about why the rapid "burial at sea" and why now the pics won't be released, I'd start considering the possibility.

I considered this two hours after the TOTUS campaign speech when they said Osama was buried at sea. The excuse was no one would take him. BS. I can think of places in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states that would have taken the body. Heck, they could have buried the POS alongside Arafat. The next big lie was this was an Islamic burial. BS. I would have had doubts, but given credit for the take down until the "burial at sea" angle.

Why even report on the operation? Even if they tapped him, why report it? My opinion is they lost a great deal of intelligence potential by the admission. I just have one question. Did Obama compromise US intelligence gathering by campaigning on this? Did they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

My opinion is if either snatched or tapped, they should have denied it ever happened until the last bit of information was squeezed out of this operation. Now look at all the domestic blowback because they couldn't keep their mouths shut.

If all they wanted to do was avoid having a shrine, they could have dropped him out of the helo over a random spot of badlands desert on the way to the coast. Involving the Carl Vinson (and by extension the knowledge of the CO and wardroom) means this was very deliberate. Or they could have dropped him out of the helo anywhere (over badlands, desert wastes or ocean) and then made up any damn story they wanted to.

I don’t think anyone on this forum, from the posts I have seen, can be rightfully accused of deliberately maligning the SEALs, or JSOC operators in general, with their speculations but that accusation has been freely tossed around. Not by you that I know of but by many others. I don’t think that is deserved.

After all, who takes their oath to defend the Constitution seriously any more? If you’re in the military - your first allegiance is to Obama and any and all orders (legal and otherwise) that he may issue.

Pictures, DNA reports, fingerprints, - all that stuff can be faked. Releasing it is a waste of time. Who would believe OBL is dead because of some pics?!!

The only credible evidence to me that he is really dead is the testimony of those who were in the compound - his own daughter has testified in Arab news that she saw him shot and dead. And, if a Navy Seal says he’s dead - I figure he’s dead.

I’ve kinda figured that was the highest probability outcome myself. Great intel coup, no strings attached.

And knowing he was there for X amount of time and not taking him until now makes the same sense if they were getting premium SigInt out of the area. Might as well milk that stuff for all it’s worth!
