“To counter this discrimination, Gary Sinese organized an underground movement called “Friends of Abe,” after Abraham Lincoln to meet low key in restaurants and private homes. “

Being Republican is the New Gay in terms of stereotyping and being under threat of black lists from far left liberal progressive employers calling the shots in Hollywood.

Actually in Hollywood these days being gay is probably a lot more career enhancing than being a Republican.

The blacklist is very, very real in Hollywood. Someone very close to me is in the thick of it. He can’t wait to retire in a couple of years and get the hell out. The powerful in Hollywood will take away your work, your friends and your sanity.

I just think Pat Boone being a leader in Hollywood is pretty anemic. He hasn’t had a Hollywood career in what? 40 years? Gary Sinese on the other hand is cool! I sincerely miss Ron Silver. He was young(ish), hip, urban and had a hell of a lot of moxie.

1oo% true. (max in hollywood 90028). The original “circle” was called ‘Friends of Ronnie” (Reagan) and whenever a RW conservative Hollywood biz guy or girl meet, someone would just say ‘F.O.R.’?, the other person just nods with 4 fingers up and that was it.

Interesting essay, and I’m glad to hear of the movement. However, he wants us to contact our Congress. About what?

Hollyweird has “reeled” out of control (pun intended). What’s Congress able to do about it? THe last time Congress tried to do anything about Hollywood, it was saddled with the spectre of McCarthyism and HUAC. For the life of me, I don’t understand why those 2 movements are connected. McCarthy was a SENATOR and had nothing to do with the House, but you’d hardly find anyone under the age of 60 that knows that any more.

This article is very poorly written, and everyone knows that Gary Sinise is one of the good guys... Nothing new here... I was hoping to learn the secret hand shake...
