I Googled the phrase "oath of Senators" and came across this. It seems that Our Senators have violated their oath with their insistence on passing the Amnesty Bill.
In the 1860s, during the Civil War, legislators were trying to root out traitors. They wanted a more explicit oath. They had the oath of office rewritten. Here is the oath of office taken by every U.S. Senator since that time.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

Could you be more specific? Which part are they violating?

The fact that they have gone to great lengths to IGNORE their constituents on the Amnesty bill I think is not a faithful discharge of their duties.
This is a Republic, not a democracy. It is not one of their duties to do what their constituents want them to do. Their constituents elected them to exercise independent judgment, and if their constituents dislike the judgment that they have exercised, they can vote them out of office.
There were no “traitors” after the war for southern independence.

Northern authorities considered Southerners who were fighting for independence as “traitors”, even though the entire nation had done the same thing against the British 80 years before. When you make the definitive statement that the Senate took actions in the 1860’s to root out traitors, you imply by definition that southerners were traitors. You know, during reconstruction, most of my ancestors lost their right to vote, because reconstruction law said that any former confederate officer that had a certain amount of financial wherewithall, was to be prohibited from voting. Now, we weren’t finanically wiped out, but alot of people were, and they added insult to injury by taking away the franchise.
Many of our regions richest people ended up being homeless paupers by 1880, and all because northerners viewed us as “traitors” I’m just trying to bring up a point, it’s never a good idea to use the word “traitor” when talking about that period of time, cause it’s a sensitive subject and doing so angers alot of us.
If anyone has fallen down on the duties of office in the area of immigration, it has been our Presidents starting with Reagan and following on with GHWB, Clinton, and GWB whose duty it was to enforce existing law.
If the Congress sees a portion of government not working, law making and funding are their only remedies with large impact. That they came up with this corrupt and misguided effort is an extension of executive failure.
While my preference is no innovative wholesale replacement of immigration legislation, simply waiting for the executive to act has proven futile.

Wrong. If you clicked the link in the original post, you would have found that that text is on the website that I gleaned this information from.
It was to illustrate that the oath has gone from a one-line sentence to a much deeper and involoved solemn vow.
If it is true that Big Business is driving the Anmesty Bill, and that they are desiring a “North AMerican Union”, then the Senators driving this legislation are assisting (or acting as useful idiots) “domestic enemies” in the tearing of our social fabric, eliminating our middle class and eroding American values.
