By their fruits we shal know them...

I also am pretty skeptical of pro-life dems, and ask as others, if they really were pro-life how they could possibly have stayed with dems this long.

On the other hand, tell me the "fruits" we have, to know the republicans. They've had the Senate and The House, since 1994, AND the White House for over 6 years.

Fruits To Inspect?

The very first vote these "pro-life" Democrates will pass, is to elect "pro-death" Pelosi as their leader.

A monster government that seeks to control all aspects of its citizens lives is not pro-life. A government that requires its citizens to turn over the fruits of its labor to be redistributed as our masters see fit is not pro-life. A government that seeks to conform society to the values and vision of the depraved multi-culturists is not pro-life. Men were created to be free. Without freedom life will never really be living.
To define pro-life exclusively in terms of abortion is ludicrous and totally idiotic. And yes I am totally against abortion. A culture of life has to be a culture of freedom. Not a culture where we are all wards of and slaves of the state.

The dems have finally found out why they can't get elected. I had a girlfriend, a strong Christian, who voted for every tax increse in the world. She was; so lib she was practically a socialist, but she "had to leave" the dem party because of abortion. She was very upset about it.

She was dem through and through but abortion effectively stopped her from voting dem.

This is the dem strategery. Get votes by prolife candidates, but keep them marginalized. Pelosi will make sure they have no real power. Abortion is way too sacred to Dems to allow such things.

On the other hand, tell me the "fruits" we have, to know the republicans.

The Republicans failed on just too many aspects of their mission.
E.g., given the golden reason of 9-11, no real securing of
our borders.

I held my nose and voted for 'em only because I didn't want to
"put the children in charge" as happened in 1992.

A party shouldn't run on fear, but Rove should have made it clear
to voters that "If you want a 'party of 1968' like in France, vote
Democrat".

How many took the place of pro-abortion Republicans? What was the net effect on the pro-life makeup of the House and Senate?

"Democrats For Life of America’s top priorities for the 110th Congress
are:...fully funding the National Cord Blood Inventory Act..."

I'll applaud if the Democrats do this. And I'll hardly believe it
until it happens.
The Sunday Los Angeles Times did a hit-piece last year on cord-blood
banking, including the name and city of a lawyer that wants to get
a class-action suit up against cord-blood banks.
He didn't specify why, but my guess is that the lawyer and The
LA Times are angry that more people have received treatments/therapies
from their cord blood...than via Embryonic stem cells.

I got the feeling the article was written by an Embryonic stem-cell
zealot that was out to "abort" the competition, no matter how successfully
it performs in the real world.
Unlike ESCs so far.

They were critical in winning elections but they will have no share in running the House.

I believe there are pro-life democrats..they are just ignorant of what the others are doing, until they hit Washington and then they join the crowd..same with republicans..there is something about that city that makes people corrupt..I guess it isn't the city but the people in it...Don't think for a second that Nancy is going to put up with anyone that isn't for what she is for,and that is murder of a babies. The Dem's are going to abort themselves out of business what I mean is they will become extinct. The blacks and Mexicans will have their little voters for them like little soldiers marching.

I think Heath Shuler from NC 11 is a former Republican who was persuaded to switch parties specifically to beat Charles Taylor. I have also heard he is not too bright, so I don't expect him to be able to withstand the pressure to vote with Pelosi rather than according to his personal convictions. I think a lot of conservative Democrats and disgruntled Republicans who voted for these "wolves in sheep's clothing" are going to be shocked and disappointed at what their new heroes are going to do, and what's worse, going to allow the liberals that really control the party to do.

Several pro-life democrats will assume leadership positions in the new Democratic majority in the House. Rep. Jim Oberstar will chair the Transportation Committee

Leaving aside the abortion issue for the moment, this guy's donor list makes interesting reading considering the committee he's going to be chairing.

Democrats had to move to the right or they would simply cease to exist.

The single issue values voter is not loyal to the GOP and will place a majority of their vote with pro-life dems when sufficient numbers runs.

They never vote against Abortion, they only 'feel' it is wrong, but that is a 'private' view that they cannot 'impose' on others.

None of these 'pro-life' guys will vote for a single anti-abortion bill.

"Live and learn" it has been said, and that is true. Trouble is that adage only applies to the ignorant. The stupid are unable to learn.
