Except that they will then spend months whining about "Diebold" and "vote fraud" (funny how the vast majority of provable vote fraud concerns Democrats, but I digress) and fantasies of overturning the election well into 2007 and possibly even teh 2008 primary season.

Sorry, the correct term is "electoral fraud": Diebold, RW Supreme Court which stopped the count and appointed GWB, under-served minority districts with long lines, intimidation by police officers, requiring photo ID that is a poll tax on poor, elderly, and minority voters. "Vote fraud" and "voter fraud" is a racist red-herring tactic by the evil Republicans to prevent Democratic voters from exercising their rights and to prevent the impeachment of George Bush.

While I can't say anything about Alabama, having grown up in NYC, I can say for sure it was used a heck of a lot more there than it is used in the part of Virginia I now live in.

I plan to do a bit of blogging on the absurdity of getting the third degree in that interview while the government leaves our borders practically wide open.

I don't doubt it a bit. An elderly black woman that my mother worked with for years once told me about racism in the south as opposed to racism in the north.

She said that southern racism was open and easier to deal with. In the north racism took the form of people embracing blacks because the embracer believed that blacks couldn't do anything for themselves.

We are in 100% agreement on the absurdity of this claim. People have always remarked that I have a knack for remembering names and telephone numbers...but for me to claim I can recall specific dialogue and actual context decades later would be considered outrageous. Similarly, this technique has simply got to backfire on them.
