Please let us know when any of the LENR people produce a device that gets run at an independent facility, and produces heat for an extended test run (figure about a week), long enough to preclude any sort of chemical reaction being responsible.

The point of a patent is to give ALL the info necessary to create the patented device, in exchange for exclusive rights to license the technology. So, no more “trade secret” claims.

"Please let us know when any of the LENR people produce a device that gets run at an independent facility, and produces heat for an extended test run (figure about a week), long enough to preclude any sort of chemical reaction being responsible."

Ongoing now (and has been for six months). Expected completion in five months.

Having read this patent (you "have" read the patent, yes?), this appears to have been done. Many specifics given here that were not in Rossi's previously issued Italian patent.

Industrial Heat (company started to bring Rossi’s E-cat technology to market) has filed for an International Patent on aspects of the technology:

(Note: I have not yet had a chance to work through the patent application in depth.)

Oh, man. WW, you're still shilling for this con man? Last we spoke, I was asking you how you'd justify your support when Rossi failed to revolutionize human civilization in October 2011.

I guess free magical energy forever is still right around the corner, huh?

Ah, an aging seagull. The tech has moved from lab to pilot plant, verified by numerous credible witnesses, having been licensed by a verifiable and credible company which has publicly acknowledged the acquisition, and, as shown on this thread, an issued US Patent. Scheduled date for completion of the pilot plant run is five months from now.

If reportage of confirmable facts is "shilling", then I guess that is what I'm doing.

I'll take that as a "Yes, free magical energy forever is still right around the corner."

So how long do you reckon, bearing in mind that it was any day now four years ago, and even before that?

Well, as usual, you're wrong. I have never said that or any similar commentary. Having worked for one of the biggest chemical companies in the world for many years, I have a VERY good idea of how long it takes to reduce R&D to operating plants. By that standard (the real world rather than whatever fantasy world you skeptopaths inhabit), Rossi is somewhat ahead of the curve.

You might also want to consider the track record of the hot fusion boys......

"So how long do you reckon, bearing in mind that it was any day now four years ago, and even before that?

And I say again...I said no such thing.

But to give you a straight anwer...my estimate.....2017 for multiple plant production, but public affirmation (with data) by the end of this year.

Oh, do you? That does not bode well for Rossi, since you thought he was months away from producing free magical energy forever, four years ago. You even called Fall 2012 an "absolute drop dead" time by which we'd know the truth, since he was going to deliver a working MW-scale reactor to a top-secret customer then.

But now, years after being proven wrong by your own criteria, it turns out you're not surprised at all, because you have a very solid understanding of how insurmountably difficult it is to enter the energy market when all you have is unlimited free energy. Heh.

But to give you a straight anwer...my estimate.....2017

Okay! I look forward to talking with you in 2017, when you'll no doubt say that as an expert you know how these things take time, so we'll absolutely, positively know by 2019. I hope it's at least fun to be on your side of the gullible/rational divide, because I'm having a great time over here.

Proof?

Really. I doubt I said even one word about difficulty in entering the energy market. Re-read my comment...time from pilot plant to production plant in the chemical industry.

Proof?

January 2012:

Lx: We'll see where this goes hopefully soon enough.
Wonder Warthog: Indeed. There is now an absolute "drop dead" time frame. Rossi has stated that he intends to begin shipping small E-Cats (20 KW) to individual customers for home heating use by the fall of this year.

Yup...apparently I did make that statement. Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for you, there is no such thing in business as an absolute "drop dead" date....things change.

And in this case, having followed the subject, I understand why the change in direction happened....Rossi entered into a partnership agreement with a large resources alliance headed by Tom Darden. The partner wanted to pursue a different marketing strategy. Hence.....

But satisfy my curiosity.....why are you so invested in denigrating this specific piece of technology development?? No widows and orphans are being defrauded (and never were). If Darden and his backers failed to do the necessary "due diligence" investigation, if they lose money...they can afford it.

If you were really interested in stopping fraud, you should be all over FR about the REAL fraud(s) in fusion....the hot fusion approach and its supporters have defrauded the American taxpayers of hundreds of billions of dollars, with no practical outcome.

Oh, so now it's not about the technical hurdles at all, is it? It's because of "marketing strategy."

This is the point you never seem to grasp. "Marketing strategies" are not relevant when you have unlimited free energy for sale. "Making a PR splash" is not relevant when you have unlimited free energy for sale. "Corporate branding success" is not relevant when you have unlimited free energy for sale. "Getting your message out" is not relevant when you have unlimited free energy for sale. Rossi's stalling tactics were a joke by 2011, but you're still hanging around on his hook, at least partially because you do not understand that when you have unlimited free energy for sale, there is one thing and one thing only that you need to do to make trillions of dollars: sell energy for less than the going rate of energy.

But satisfy my curiosity.....why are you so invested in denigrating this specific piece of technology development?

Because, like most chronicles of pathological science, it's endlessly entertaining. It's fascinating and hilarious in all its technical, criminal, and sociological factors. What can I say? I'm fascinated by bullshit of all kinds.

LOL. Clueless you are! Not a shred of evidence to support your position, just meaningless blather.

No matter what the marketing strategy, it still takes finite time to reduce a pilot technology to enginering production reality. But marketing strategy determines where and how you put your development efforts FIRST.

"Because, like most chronicles of pathological science, it's endlessly entertaining. It's fascinating and hilarious in all its technical, criminal, and sociological factors. What can I say? I'm fascinated by bullshit of all kinds.

You should be....you spew enough of it.

RE:
“Back in one of my classes, I saw a very small piece of sodium pulled from a beaker of liquid to show how caught fire in its reaction with ambient air.”

IIRC Phosphorus is kept in liquid, and reacts violently (white hot fire) with air.
Sodium on the other hand reacts violently upon contact with water.
