Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

YOU PICKED BIGOTRY OVER CONSERVATISM

And YOU have chosen your country over Jesus Christ.

Luke 14:25-27 25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Go do your homework and come back when you have questions.

I don't have any questions for you sweetie, I ask question of the LDS teachers when I want information on Mormon beliefs.

One I had a long conversation with had a hard time answering this question, but finally did. The question was, are you and others of your faith going to be gods with your own planets and celestial wives to bear children to populate a planet?

He said that is an option for followers of the LDS belief system.

That, and their teachings on the subject, kind of settles it.

Romney has to believe these things, otherwize he would be on the outs with the LDS, being as he is a high level Bishop.

All, com'n guys, quit the name calling, quit playing the "Mormon baby snatching" cards, quit playing the "my religion is better than yours cards," and so on. DU must be laughing at us right about now. Do we want that? We must realize that in life we do not always get what we want 100% of the time. We must deal with the hand we are dealt with. I am a realist, we live in a grey and black morality world. The trick is to try our best to stop the black and push the grey to the white side, but we are human, we have faults, there will always be grey that remains.

Gang, we can't survive 4 more years of Obama. I fear we will get into a civil war, an atomic war or both. As a video game addict I am, being a 1970's/1980's guy, the words will be "GAME OVER" and we do not have any quarters left.

Yeah, I'm more of a libertarian at times, maybe I'm a touch of the old South Park Republican and so on. We need to worry about our freedoms and our future, our country. I'm not worried about who sleeps with whom, who marries what, who eats where, if our Olympic sportswear is too relealing or not and so on. I don' like bullying though. I stood up for Chick-Fil-A, their people that run the company have the right to express their opinions and run things as they see fit without being bullied by the gay lobby. On the other side, if gays behave themselves like we all should, go to work, earn their pay fairly and try their hand to access the American Dream, whatever it is, they have the right to do so. If either side wants to change the laws, there is the legislative process to follow as Sgt. Joe Friday said one time on "Dragnet." I even admit that I prefer to think on my own and make up my own mind on many social and moral issues and go case by case as may be.

We risk losing the whole game, folks. The debate we have over many social and fiscal issues will be moot. If we preserve the Republic, we can then hash out compromises as determine the Constitutional muster on these policies.

I see the works of God as mysterious, maybe by voting for Romney, we are doing His work. I don't know, I can't read minds of people, let alone God's, heck, I'm sure I have Asperger's, it's tough for me to read cues at times.

I cannot force anyone to vote for Romney nor should I be able to. We all have to make up our minds on this issue. Still, Romney did many things well, to name a couple, he did save the 2002 Olympic games in Salt Lake City and generated a profit, the only games to do so. He did save many companies through Bain Capital. I know some were closed as well, but that's the business cycle, sometimes things don't work out.

Our country and world depends on this election for sure, as you vote, think about that and what I wrote.

One more thing, I repeat the Rodney King quote, "can't we all get along?!"

Yes, indeed. It was their body temperatures (around little girls) that made them whatever they were.

I didn’t accuse you of sour grapes or revenge.

ALL: Does this statement stand the "straight-face" test when CWSNTEXAS just said:

"I asked earlier if you had been dropped on your head. Let me guess, you were dropped on your head by Mormons and this is your pay back?

What does "pay back" mean to you in your vocabulary?

(Please don't shoot your integrity by beginning to parse words Clintonesque style).

As far as what "fills" me inwardly, you have no clue...

Your post exemplifies rule #3:

THOU SHALT & THOU SHALT NOT RULES OF DISPARAGERS & DISRUPTORS [What Poster is Really Saying] Repackaged Framing by DPs to Hide REAL message... Basic problem, approach, and/or sin that disparaging posters need to address/reprent of... Basic problem, approach, and/or sin that disparaging posters need to address/reprent of... If disparaging posters were consistent, we would see them...
RULE #3: THOU INNER MOTIVATIONS, TEMPERAMENTS, AND DISPOSITIONS SHALL BE PSYCHO-ANALYZED BY COMPLETE STRANGERS! (SELF-APPOINTED 'DR.' ME!) (Assumes accusatory posture, often stereotyping & may engage in spiritual or moral one-upsmanship) (a) JUDGING (going extremely beyond scope of available info to them): Here, DPs go beyond judging external fruit, beginning to harshly judge inward motivations, temperaments and dispositions of complete strangers. They either psycho-analyze or use Magic 8-balls or urims & thummims or some unknown basis for accomplishing this. And they are unapologetic about offering their uninvited lay psychology services! 1 Samuel 16:7 in the Old Testament says that ONLY God knows the inner man; that men look only upon the OUTER aspects of others...Such disparaging posters thus assume the sovereign and omniscient role of God to make such slanderous judgments (b) If the poster targeted by a DP is ex-Lds, all manner of assumptions as to why the Mormon left are usually superimposed upon the poster's personal history ...to react the same way to other similar online discussions. Surprisingly, these are the same posters who claim nobody could possibly know the status of any individual's relationship with God (heaven vs. hell is usually context of such discussion)...if these people are so "hands-off" here in assessing others' spirituality, why is the supposedly near-complete psychosis of others right at their beck and call for them to gossip at will?

Note: 'DPs" = Disparaging Posters -- those who castigate others for 'castigating' others [Yes, they are self-refuting, double-standard, two-faced hypocrites]

And your last two posts to me fit you to a "T"

The only one who has "planted" me is God (blame Him).

If you're talking about some "horizontal" who has "planted" me, you've just born false witness...you've broken one of the 10 commandments...and I suggest you repent.

I reject anyone who uses the tool of denigrating another religion as a means of gaining political advantage

So what is your take on THIS??

Questions put to Joseph Smith: "'Do you believe the Bible?' [Smith:]'If we do, we are the only people under heaven that does, for there are none of the religious sects of the day that do'. When asked 'Will everybody be damned, but Mormons'? [Smith replied] 'Yes, and a great portion of them, unless they repent, and work righteousness." (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 119).
Joseph Smith: "for the teachers of religion of the different sects understood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible" (from Pearl of Great Price 1:12). "What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p.270).

Brigham Young stated this repeatedly: "When the light came to me I saw that all the so-called Christian world was grovelling in darkness" (Journal of Discourses 5:73); "The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God" (Journal of Discourses 8:171); "With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world" (Journal of Discourses 8:199); "And who is there that acknowledges [God's] hand? ...You may wander east, west, north, and south, and you cannot find it in any church or government on the earth, except the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (Journal of Discourses , vol. 6, p.24); "Should you ask why we differ from other Christians, as they are called, it is simply because they are not Christians as the New Testament defines Christianity" (Journal of Discourses 10:230).

Orson Pratt proclaimed: "Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the 'whore of Babylon' whom the Lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness. Any person who shall be so corrupt as to receive a holy ordinance of the Gospel from the ministers of any of these apostate churches will be sent down to hell with them, unless they repent" (The Seer, p. 255).

Orson Pratt also said: "This great apostasy commenced about the close of the first century of the Christian era, and it has been waxing worse and worse from then until now" (Journal of Discourses
, vol.18, p.44) and: "But as there has been no Christian Church on the earth for a great many centuries past, until the present century, the people have lost sight of the pattern that God has given according to which the Christian Church should be established, and they have denominated a great variety of people Christian Churches, because they profess to be ...But there has been a long apostasy, during which the nations have been cursed with apostate churches in great abundance" (Journal of Discourses , 18:172).

President John Taylor stated: "Christianity...is a perfect pack of nonsense...the devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century." (Journal of Discourses , vol. 6, p.167); "Where shall we look for the true order or authority of God? It cannot be found in any nation of Christendom." (Journal of Discourses , 10:127).

James Talmage said: "A self-suggesting interpretation of history indicates that there has been a great departure from the way of salvation as laid down by the Savior, a universal apostasy from the Church of Christ". (A Study of the Articles of Faith, p.182).

President Joseph Fielding Smith said: "Doctrines were corrupted, authority lost, and a false order of religion took the place of the gospel of Jesus Christ, just as it had been the case in former dispensations, and the people were left in spiritual darkness." (Doctrines of Salvation, p.266). "For hundreds of years the world was wrapped in a veil of spiritual darkness, until there was not one fundamental truth belonging to the place of salvation ...Joseph Smith declared that in the year 1820 the Lord revealed to him that all the 'Christian' churches were in error, teaching for commandments the doctrines of men" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 3, p.282).

More recent statements by apostle Bruce McConkie are also very clear: "Apostasy was universal...And this darkness still prevails except among those who have come to a knowledge of the restored gospel" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol 3, p.265); "Thus the signs of the times include the prevailing apostate darkness in the sects of Christendom and in the religious world in general" (The Millennial Messiah, p.403); "a perverted Christianity holds sway among the so-called Christians of apostate Christendom" (Mormon Doctrine, p.132); "virtually all the millions of apostate Christendom have abased themselves before the mythical throne of a mythical Christ whom they vainly suppose to be a spirit essence who is incorporeal uncreated, immaterial and three-in-one with the Father and Holy Spirit" (Mormon Doctrine, p.269); "Gnosticism is one of the great pagan philosophies which antedated Christ and the Christian Era and which was later commingled with pure Christianity to form the apostate religion that has prevailed in the world since the early days of that era." (Mormon Doctrine, p.316).

President George Q. Cannon said: "After the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, there were only two churches upon the earth. They were known respectively as the Church of the Lamb of God and Babylon. The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christendom, though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common origin. They all belong to Babylon" (Gospel Truth, p.324).

President Wilford Woodruff stated: "the Gospel of modern Christendom shuts up the Lord, and stops all communication with Him. I want nothing to do with such a Gospel, I would rather prefer the Gospel of the dark ages, so called" (Journal of Discourses , vol. 2, p.196).

That said, you may be able to speak for Christians, but there is nothing “Judeo” in hatred and intolerance.

I speak for myself as a Christian.

No hate in using the Bible and facts about false religions to show people the truth.

I haven't attacked anyone, just debating back and forth.

If you saw a post of mine where I was attacking someone, let me know which one and I will ask to have it removed.

Christianity is very intolerant of false religions. The Bible condemns them constantly.

Why on earth do you care if you are not one?

I can only assume, from your question; that you are not a CHRISTIAN.

We are COMMANDED to face up to, rebuke, and rebuff false teachings about GOD and Christ.

That is ANTI-mormonISM in a nutshell.

You MUST read what MORMONism has produced and compare it to classical Christianity to see the ERROR the MORMONism pushes.

...the antitheses of what I have been taught to believe was the message of Jesus.

I'm curious as to what your understanding of that message is. Did you hear about it on a Billy Graham telecast, or at a Bible study, or from some other person who is a Christian? Do you think it was a message for everyone or just for a specially chosen group of people, such as Catholics or Southern Baptists?

YOU are a friggin nut-case.

The easy thing for me to do would be to sign off and not return.

However- I will stand against you until my fingers bleed before I will allow the likes of you to become the “face” of the Conservative movement.

You’re not a conservative.

You’re a self-proclaimed “Christian” who distorts the very words of G*d to promote your demented view of the world. G*d may have planted you, but he also planted weeds and I chop them down every week when I mow my lawn.

In the same way- I will continue to chop your hate-filled, ignorant, misguided mantras.

You are NOT here to promote the liberty of the country or the cause of conservatism.

You are here to hate and your agenda will not stand.

Everyone here IS anti-Obama. At least as near as I can tell. However, ABO appears to be the universally accepted label. Virgil Goode is ‘anyone’, and so is Tom Hoefling. But when those inconvenient facts are brought up, people tend to get defensive. So it appears “NBR” is perhaps more accurate. As in, Nobody But Romney.

Bingo!

One of the best posts of this portion of the thread.

I've said -- for months -- something similar to this..the "NBR" is great insight.

What I've said is: "ABO" is simply a euphemism for pro-Romney...otherwise, they wouldn't get defensive re: Goode or Hoefling. (Because, they, too qualify as "ABO")
