Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Personally I enjoyed this site a lot better when there a more civil discussion rather than the hate filled dialogue of the past few days.

Me, too; but whatya goona DO?

We've TRIED to get the MORMONs to try different words other than HATERs and BIGOTs!!!, but they seem to have no Roget available.

"You're an idiot."

Nice name-calling. You've provided my point.

We are cannibalizing conservatism. The attacks that are launched on board members and nearly every elected GOPer that is ever mentioned on FR is tiring. For now, I’m done with this site. I hope things become more civil and sensible here, but in the meantime, I’m fighting for Romney and Ryan.

As God is my witness, I will not, in any way possible, assist the corrupt Marxist Kenyan ...

Then you WILL 'assist' the known deceived MORMON, Romney.

I'm sorry that I can't convince you that choosing the lesser of the two evils is STILL choosing evil.

Well I don't tell people to not vote for Romney, just that I will not.

Voting for him does encourage the GOP-e to continue running liberal candidates and then laugh at all the voters that vote for them because there are no conservatives on the ticket.

And, BTW Romney has a horrible record on appointing judges, seems to prefer leftist democrats.

I stand by everything I wrote and if you didn’t notice, my temper is not riled.

Go ahead and stand by it; but where is the evidence claimed by it?

God Bless you for sticking with your principles, Jim.

Amen.

What Jim Robinson has built (and yes, he DID BUILT IT) is truly a testament to the American system of free enterprise and his own tenacity. Starting with very little other than an idea and some sharp coding skills, Free Republic has risen to become the unchallenged voice for Constitutional Conservatism, leaving all other pretenders and also-rans in the dust. It was FR that brought Dan Rather down. It was FR that had the first news about the Columbia disaster in 2003. It was FR that broke the story about Sarah Palin being tapped for Vice President in 2008. And that's just a tiny smattering of the numerous times that Jim's Free Republic has out-hustled and out-smarted the lamestream media.

Similarly as Jim Robinson's innovative idea became a reality, he built a site that attracted a diverse (in the good, non-leftist sense of that word), intelligent assemblage of members. To name but a few, there's wardaddy whose fearless stance against political correctness shines the light of truth on liberals and their race card-playing enablers. Of course dear onyx is among the must read posters. Her unabashed stand for Conservatism (and Sarah Palin) is exceeded only by her steadfast efforts in Freepathons and the wonderful pictures she provides for our enjoyment. Last but by no means least is humblegunner whose razor-sharp wit is reminiscent of H.L. Mencken or Samuel Clemens. His outing of blogpimps has only served to enhance the quality of Free Republic's already superb content. And his grammar is impeccable although he may have omitted an apostrophe in a sentence...once...a decade or so ago.

I didn't mean to omit serveral others that have become part of my daily readings habits, but those three are among the real treasures at this pro-God, pro-liberty, pro-life and pro-gun forum where true Constitutional Conservatism has never been and never will be compromised.

Actually, the only insults have been hurled TOWARDS me. For example, for daring to support Rick Santorum, you know, that guy some here call a rino (and worse). For having the back of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. That sort of thing. The same thing Sarah Palin is now going to do. Have their back. I’m with Sarah on that one. I don’t need or want to insult.

Thanks for participating, though.

They’ll invoke God, they’ll claim a Constitutional basis for their opinions, but mostly they’ll claim they are doing Gods work.

DAMMIT!!

We ARE!!!

“Anything posted in the open forum is fair game for every one.”

Indeed, but someone I don’t know, telling me what someone else was thinking, is not getting me to believe it. I wanted clarification from the poster I questioned, not a mind reader, for the benefit of the forum.

“I don’t see any reason to abandon FR. We will continue the fight for God and country regardless of who wins elections. Elections and politicians come and go. Securing our God given liberty is a never ending battle.”

Well said as much as I get tired of the Romney and the GOP drama queens the fight to restore a conservative philosophy to America will continue past November.

Electing liberals to do the job is idiocy but it seems there are more idiots in the world than folks with conviction.

Maybe you should ask your mother what you should do. I’m not responsible for you or for what you do. Show her your posts and ask her what she thinks you should do next.

I am voting for Mitt Romney. Absolutely.

It seems that Mr. Robinson has given me no direction that I should leave FreeRepublic, so unless you’re speaking for him.......

Unlike what we did to Sarah Palin in 2008, I’m with her on this one, *I* have their back. You can sit and observe.

I believe there are very clear guidelines as to handle differences between people who right or wrong, believe they are “Christians”.

I do not believe it is meant to be done in a public forum but in a private manner and with a loving heart.

How can you EVER affect change- even if you are trying to point out to someone the flaws you see in their faith, when all you do is publicly ridicule their religion and so embarrassingly point out the flaws?

I don’t understand what the people here have done to deserve this treatment.

This is not coming from a position of peaceful, led by piety, witnessing. This is an indictment as if there has been a religious grand jury summoned. It’s sad and to me, the antitheses of what I have been taught to believe was the message of Jesus.
