Trayvon Martin did not deserve to die. Everyone has heard the story of the 17-year-old black kid who was walking home from a Florida gas station, when he was shot dead by a self-appointed neighborhood watchman. Zimmerman wasn’t arrested until recently, since he was protected by Florida’s "Stand Your Ground" law, which states that it’s all right to kill someone if they confront you. George Zimmerman claims that Martin attacked him.
I’m a white kid, so some may argue that the gravity of the situation is somewhat lost on me, but it’s not. I’m a firm believer in the fact that every person is considered a person, no matter what they look like, or where they’re from. I’ve lived in Syracuse for my entire life and thanks to the schools that I go to, I have lived with an unbelievable amount of diversity every single day.
There is no doubt in my mind that this was a racially motivated murder. If it had been a white girl, Zimmerman would’ve been in jail so fast -- although, he probably wouldn’t have shot in the first place. Even if Martin really did attack Zimmerman, the fact remains that Zimmerman followed the unarmed kid with a gun. If Martin had a gun, he would’ve been completely within his rights to kill Zimmerman, but, if he had, he probably would’ve been arrested and put in jail for years.
Racism like this needs to end. We need to move past these ideas of stereotypes and prejudice and coexist. Only then can we make true progression within the human race.
It’s just the usual “Guilt by Whiteness” that is a real popular narrative.

This kid is a Sophomore in High School - approximately 16 years old. Who the hell does a punk kid think he is telling others that he is superior to them? He declares Zimmerman "guilty of murder" without knowing any of the facts. The newspaper then publishes this nonsense...
I wouldn't be surprised if this was written by his idiot parents.

How about these stereotypes:
Whites are violent and don’t like black people.
Or how about:
Black people are all innocent and just set up by evil white people.
How about those racial stereotypes?
Think of the modern Public school as a smaller version of Hollywood where people lower on the social ladder prostrate their integrity for the cause. Because that’s exactly how it works.
This kid has been convinced by PC teachers/teaching that the lib line is Gospel and any deviance will get him shunned. In fact, think Stockholm Syndrome. He now totally identifies with, and supports, the very people brainwashing him.
Should he ever miraculously have a moment of clarity and express it, he knows he will become an outcast. Therefor he abandons what he believes is right to get along and in fact, be praised by his educational oppressors. It’s the same story history has shown a thousand times and the result is predictable.
Someday this kid will be president.

I seem to remember there was a ton of ‘junk’ like this out there when the Duke Lacrosse team case was the racial poster child of the moment. Didn’t some of the faculty at Duke take out an ad about the incident, jumping to conclusions while featuring themselves as tolerant progressives? Did they subsequently take out an ad to apologize to the Lacrosse team?

Given the facts I know of the case, If the roles were reversed and a black neighborhood watch captain had to shoot a Hispanic man who was beating him I would say there is no case against the shooter.
I know in my heart that that is what I would say. I always judge the facts, I never let something so trivial as race enter into the equation.
I suppose this makes me odd, I’m so happy to be surrounded by so many similarly afflicted individuals on this forum. :-)
I'm beginning to get a feel for what a rare critter I was at that age. To me, it was more important to be right--and it still is.
I can't begin to describe the ridicule and criticism I have endured over the years for being right.
It isn't easy, and it's even harder sometimes to not rub people's faces in it when you are proven that way.
But when the day is done, it is worth enduring it, and those who will graciously admit they were wrong can become allies in the future.

The Trayvon Martin case proves for the umpteenth time that Big Lib Media cannot be trusted to tell the truth. In fact, this is another classic case of the half-truth. Lib media tells the country half the story and purposefully omits the finer details. Gullible libs eagerly lap up any story having to do with “racist” whites gunning down “innocent” blacks with reckless abandon. This meme hasn’t changed for forty or fifty years. But there is an unlimited supply of naive libs i.e. saps who are more than willing to believe the lies.

And the answer is yes, provided that the interloper had contempt for the rights of the people of the neighborhood, and felt entitled to snoop around in the dark of night without arousing the curiosity of the residents. Since the author of this sophomoric piece denies any possibility that a white person could be in the right when becoming suspicious of a stranger who didn’t appear to have any reason for wandering around as Mr. Martin did, the writer himself manifest the very contempt for the local residents which seems - pending any substantive new evidence - to have been in Mr. Martin.

This little boy hasn’t figured out that progress, American version, stopped in 1965 or so, and that we’ve been going backwards for more than 40 years.
My European ancestors may be africans ‘way back’ but it is their Neanderthal influence (yeah Neanderthals are ‘back’ in...they found the DNA trail) is what gave my forefathers the ability to succeed in the frozen wastes of the ice ages and put man on the moon.
