Some people here on FR need to read this entire article and at least try to break free from the bonds of leftist political correctness that has them completely brainwashed on this issue.

My bet is that the WLAT Brigade will dismiss this out-of-hand. The PC grip is tight on their brains.

Very reasoned arguement about the misuse of symbols and the mischaracterization of a flag.

The Confederate Battle Flag is an honorable symbol of those many men who died fighting for what they believed inNo, it is the symbol for a bunch of Democrat traitors that tried to destroy this great country.

My great-great grandfather fought under two versions of the battle flag of the Confederacy: The first was the flag flown in the Western Theater, which was very different from the St. Andrew's Cross used by the Army of Northern Virginia, then, prior to Chickamauga, the western Reb armies adopted the St. Andrew's Cross as their battle flag as well.
My own experience with the Civil War, however, was under the Stars and Stripes.....yet I am totally unable to hate the "Southern Cross."
P.S. The flag desecrated by the Klan, the skinheads, and the neo-Nazis is the Confederate naval jack, not the ANV battle flag.

Wrong.... first off, you CANNOT equate party affiliation in 1861 to that of today. It kills your argument right off the bat. Second, it was about the federal government overstepping it's bounds. Imagine Chuck Schumer dictating Texas gun law, or Barney Frank imposing taxes on California... and you'll get my point.

No, it is the symbol for a bunch of Democrat traitors that tried to destroy this great country. Just like the Stars and Stripes is the symbol for a bunch of traitors that tried to destroy the British Empire?

P.S. The flag desecrated by the Klan, the skinheads, and the neo-Nazis is the Confederate naval jack, not the ANV battle flag. While most battle flags were square, The Army of Tennessee Battle Flag is identical to the Naval Jack.

Not all were. I've seen some that were square, but point well taken.

I should point out that the rectangular battle flag of the Army of Tennessee was the exception to the rule, as most were square.
Note: that this Flag (The Army of Tennessee Battle Flag) is identical to the CSN Jack which was placed towards the bow of the ship as it entered or was in port. The CSN Ensign used a square "battle flag" in the upper inside corner on a white background. The Ensign is the ships "colors" and is flown during battle.

My bet is that the WLAT Brigade will dismiss this out-of-hand. The PC grip is tight on their brains.Assuming they have a brain. God's 5th COMMANDMENT is for us to 'Honor thy father and thy mother'. My parents are to honour their parents, and they theirs, and again to my ggggrandfather. I honour those whom God commands me to honour, and ignore the mindless communist cretins that insist I dishour them.
Thanks for the ping - Deo Vindice!
