An Ordinary Friend will stand by you when you are right, A True Friend will stand by you even when you are wrong... (and tell you just how wrong you were over and over and over and...)
An Ordinary Friend identifies himself when he calls. A True Friend doesn't have to...in fact you have to guess most of the time they call.
An Ordinary Friend opens a conversation with a full news bulletin on his life. A True Friend says, "What's new with you?"
An Ordinary Friend thinks the problems you whine about are recent. A True Friend says, "Geez, you've been whining about the that forver! Get off your duff and do something about it."
An Ordinary Friend has never seen you cry. A True Friend has listened over the phone, in person and in letters to your sobbing.
An Ordinary Friend doesn't know your parents' first names. A True Friend has their phone numbers in his address book...and probably doesn't know their first names either.
An Ordinary Friend brings a bottle of wine to your party. A True Friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.
An Ordinary Friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed. A True Friend also hates it when you call after bedtime but listens anyway.
An Ordinary Friend seeks to talk with you about your problems. A True Friend seeks to help you with your problems.
An Ordinary Friend wonders about your romantic history. A True Friend could blackmail you with it.
An Ordinary Friend, when visiting, acts like a guest. A True Friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.
An Ordinary Friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument. A True Friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.
An Ordinary Friend expects you to always be there for them. A True Friend expects to always be there for you!
True, True!! LOL.
It's also rumored that a True Friend will suck out the snake venom when you get bit after sitting on a snake.
And doesn't.
